My only political idealogies are as follows.....fuck the government. Regardless of who takes which office, we're always gonna have to deal with bullshit and nobody ever lives up to their promises after they take office. It's always gonna be a little bit of good, mixed up in a shitload of bad.
swazo it makes more sense to keep hard drugs illegal if your only goal is the best health of a nation, or the lowest taxes. but those things seem pretty fucking petty compared to personal freedoms and the liberty to explore your own self.
Well I think we're all operating under different impressions of 'legal' here. I'm not outright saying it should be available over the counter but it should be available for free to addicts. The money that would cost is tiny compared to all cash spent on 'prevention' and drug related crime. No-one wants to be an addict but it happens and it should be treated like any other illness imo. And like I say, the cost to the system of addicts, welfare etc is TINY compared to corporate crime and tax evasion yet we don't seem to be cracking down on that any time soon. So is this the American Dream I've heard so much about? Every man for himself. That's the fakest kind of patriotism there is, 'I love my country but I don't feel obliged to look after my countrymen', they can sort themselves out. Lets go bomb some funny little brown people to make sure we still have 'freedom'.
Picture it. You're walking on down the road on your way to work. You pass a plethora of homeless men asking for money. Im not talking about 10 - 20, i mean a lot more than that. Then you get to work and find out your boss is in rehab. Heroin problem. Id be all for legalization of hard drugs, if those who did them signed a waver saying they would have nothing to do with the government and that they'd go live in the woods in their own community to explore their personal freedoms and if they got sick they would not come bitching to the public because the government refused to help the sick hard addicts. . I am all for freedoms, but hard drugs is taking it too far.
many, many governmental officials are already using hard drugs and/or are alcoholics. Those in the government who use are abusing prescription pain pills, opiates, and anxiety medications. they can get away with it even if they get government required random drug tests. And they don't even test for alcohol, because its legal... yet just as addictive as any hard drug. and i understand you don't want your government using hard drugs, but they are now anyway, there are always loopholes.
Yeah the sure are. I dont deny that. If it were legal I dont think you realize the amount of people, teens even that would assume ... hell its legal it cant be THAT bad. And there is no amount of advertising in the world that would keep teens away from legal hard drugs.
well crack pry wouldn't be sold at 7/11. there is a difference in socially acceptable and legal. gay sex toys are legal, but you can't pick them up at the gas station. i know many people that would no longer patronize a store if it sold hard drugs. and if people chose to use hard drugs, they would get poor and unhealthy. then they wouldn't be able to find a mate, and so natural selection would take its course. the human species would evolve intelligence at an accelerated pace, which I'm all for.
Yeah, they'd get poor and unhealthy. You think theyd say fuck it? No, theyd god damn bitch and complain that they're not getting the help they don't deserve. Im just thankful they remain illegal to keep the idiot population under control.
Yeah, its funny, people always say that. You'd be surprised how much people would pay for something in high demand. Tim Hortons was paying 18 bucks an hour at one point (cost of living blah blah I know). Besides personal freedoms what good comes from legalization of hard drugs. This is outrageous.
well if it includes psychedelics, the benefits would be...beyond words. but for other 'hard drugs', -people can self medicate -less money would go to violent gangs -legit jobs would develope -hard drugs could be taxed like cigs thats all I've got, but I think that it is worth it just for freedom's sake. first they stop letting you put what you want into your body, next they regulate what you put on your body, soon they regulate the location of your body, soon you're a mindless robot.
Are opiates really that much worse than tobacco or alcohol? It's not like people don't ruin their lives, get addicted to, and/or die from those. Coke and meth are a different story, and my opinion is mixed in regard to those.
