...One of the best musicians hasn't even been brought up yet (that I could find ). So, I've decided to do it myself (haha ). I'm speaking of Brian Setzer. My boyfriend got me into his music when we first started dating and I've loved his music ever since. I just think he's a cool guy, who should more attention in the mainstream view, like his days with the Stray Cats. I know he got popular when he did his cover of "Jump, Jive 'An Wail". I'd just like to see more of him now,besides having a new album out. Anyone else agree? I'd love to meet more fans.
I'm not a fan at all. I think he's just ok, however I haven't heard a lot of him with the Stray cats I suppose . I'll try to find some of those albums. I mainly dig his tribute to Sun records, some really excellent covers on it!
To each is own. Other than the Sun Records Tribute cd, what stuff have you listened to? Maybe if you didn't dig the other solo stuff he did, you might like the Orchestra cds. Those are amazing.. (imo)
Yeah, I've not checked a whole lot of other albums out, so it could be I'm missing out on a lot of good solostuff. The songs I've heard from his orchestra weren't really for me though. Especially not the classical music versions I've heard on his myspace. I don't really like the combination of rock 'n roll and classical. I'm gonna check some albums out, see if I dig them.
