any dog has the capacity for viciousness...
its all in how they are raised...i have a half wolf half shepard female and shes the sweetest dog on the planet...so my answer is no...

 

My college roomate had a service dog (named Hannibal) who was pure blooded wolf. He was the nicest guy. The dog I mean. The guy was kinda bitter racist.

 

Any dog has the potential of being dangerous if they're treated badly/not trained properly. Pitbulls have a strong personality and they're generally a very challenging breed so their owners must be capable of training them in the right way. Pitbulls aren't suitable for everyone but not all owners realize that and that's why you end up with dogs who have lots of behavioural/personality problems. This is true with each breed but some breeds are a lot easier to handle than pitbulls.

 

I agree completely. If you changed the word pitbull in your post for german shepherd it would also be true and they're pretty different from pitbulls.

 

what needs to be banned is this whole idea of breeding 'breeds' of any kind of any creature. let nature let dogs be dog dogs, and cats and every other kind of creature too. and let creatures be natural out in the wild where they have their own nich to play.

and if some want to live with humans occasionally that's fine too. but this whole bussiness of everything that isn't human having to be 'owned' by one is just insane.

i think that's what leads to, makes possible even, this kind of thing.

you know wolves and mountain lions aren't safe to try and approach, or any other kind of creature, but leave them alone and they don't go out of their way to be malicious either.

its humans who do that and create that kind of situation.

badass yes. a few slight problems, but dogs certainly wouldn't mess with you. not twice anyway.

people HAVE reased them in their appartments, but when the reach a certain age, its just not possible to keep them from tearing up the furniture.

and they really do need room where they can streatch out and run, and hunt down deer.

Its the upbringing, if you punish the pitbull for snapping every time he snaps / bites/ pinches someone they will learn its bad and not to do it. The rep with pitbulls is because they are strong ass dogs and they are considered ugly ( not imo) so gangstas be gettin dem pitbulls.

Of course, people dont realize when a dog is playing or when he is attacking, that post in the thread about the dog getting put down for not even drawing blood on the person, that was prolly playing. Nowadays people are just looking for some reason to sue people and make a quick buck anyway.

no, i don't think trusty was playing. a nasty woman knocked my little sister over (her baby) and got bit for it. we've always considered it a purely justified warning and have hated that fucking whore ever since.

I've had a pitbull for about eight years now and never has she snapped at anybody or tried to bite anybody. I admit I was afraid of her when we first got her, but that was only because I was a little kid and probably afraid of all dogs. Anyway, everybody in my neighborhood comes by to pet my dog when she's outside, she always stays calm or licks them. That's about it.

 

the problem with any breed are the humans who keep it and the mentality that motivates them to want to. rotwhilers can be lap dogs and daxhundts can think fingers are chew toys. it's all in how the're raised and the motivations for the ways they are raised.

people make me sick with their fucking generalizations. ive had pitts my whole life, not one of them has ever attacked or shown any sign of agression towards a person, another animal, small children, whatever. everyone in my town has pitts. and let me tell you this shit is not going down without a fight. in fact, ive never even heard of a pitt bull attacking and killing in this area as long as ive lived here. yet people get killed on the streets every day. so i say that there is a lot of other shit that should be enforced before they go banning dogs. people have their priorities all out of whack.
i once knew a guy who had been attacked by a dog when he was really young but he loves dogs and has 2 pitts himself. because he loves and respects animals and we all know that something is only dangerous if you make it that way. its not the gun that kills, its the person who pulls the trigger. and if you mistreat an animal sooner or later its going to turn. i dont give a fuck nothing could change my opinion on this

 

awww same here all my neighbors adore my dog and give him food!! and my next door neighbors kid rides around on him like a horse. my dog may be fat but hes a real sweetheart

i loved that doggie. his name was ace.

and you know those old ladys that have the little yippy dogs that think they are the meanest dog alive? those fucking dogs should be banned. i dont see how that could be a pleasant pet for anyone.

like a bird. what good is a bird? you cant cuddle with a bird. theyre messy and smell.

 

I've never understand the fun of rabbits. You can cuddle with them but that's about the only thing. I'd rather have a dog anyday

But Over in the UK...Pit Bulls are the Dogs Used for illegal Dog Fighting...

And I know They are still being Used for Underground Dog-Fighting...

Whether it is Over Here or in Northen Ireland...

It is Sad That these Dogs Have been Bred for Only One Purpose...

I am Sure many of them Do make Wonderful Pets...

But They are Fighting Dogs...

my Personal Experaince with Ameican Pit Bulls Have Not been Great...

my Labrador has been Attacked 4 Times in His Life...By Different Pit Bulls...

They were Unprovoked Attacks....That Left my Dog Off far Worse...And Needing Stiches to Either His Face or Neck...
And I Have been Attacked by One...
Leaving me Quite Shaken Whenever I meet a Pit Bull Now...

maybe I am being Biased by my Own Personal Experiance...And From What I know of my Area in merseyside...

But I Do Think the Breed Should be Banned...

After All They are 'Fighting Dogs'...Even Though Any Dog is Quite Capable of Fighting/Attacking...Pit Bulls are a Designer Fighting Dog...

Also...If the Breed was Banned...I Think more Should be Done to keep it that Way...

As in the UK...Nothing has Really been Done...

There Are more American Pit Bulls Roaming Aorung with their Thugish Owners than Every Before...
And People and Other Dogs are still being Attacked by them...

maybe that is because of the Way these Dogs Have been Raised...As They are Held as Some Sort of Status Symbol by the People who Own them...

Ban them...Or keep them on muzzles at the very Least...
