That is a big fuckin hydroponic system. My friend's dad just bought one that is 3 foot long and about 3 feet in width.

Ah yes.. I can't wait til the all food on my table can be completely unnatural .. i love how these morons are figuring out ways to try and make the horrible look some what good... just like the article the other day i read about how there are good side effects to global warming.. like oil opening up in iceland and more room for commercial farming in northern canada.. yea.. who cares about the fact that our planet is being destroyed.. lets just cover it up with ridiculous non-sense

Jokerman, has anyone ever told you, that for the past couple thousand years our Earth has been in an Ice age? Is it our fault that we built all of our cities along the coast line? Fuck yeh, it is. If we have added anything to global warming, that would be it. When the poles melt, which they always do, and they always come back, the coastlines are gonna get owned. But I don't see that happening for quite some time. Not to mention we can't do anything to stop it. If everyone on Earth stopped littering, industrializing, driving, and digging, it wouldn't matter one bit.
I hate it how people think that we are the biggest culprites in the Earth's "global warming". People are so damn ignorant.

Sorry, I get mad when people believe the "Global Warming" epidemic. It's nothing new, the Earth isn't going to instantaniously combust, just because it is getting hot. I mean, for real, what sort of fool would believe it? Apparently a good percentage of Americans...

Combust?.... why does everyone need to take others views to an extreme to make their views look better? I don't think the world would blow up from it.. thats ridiculous.. yea.. the poles melt... but they didn't melt as fast as they do now... oh yea.. thats right.. i forgot the cavemen also had 100s of 1000s of factories and cars pumping toxins into the air.....

I'm not some psycho enviromentalist.. i just have a slight fuckin idea of whats really goin on in the world.. not to mention common sense... goto LA or Vegas or any big city.. I don't believe that the air was yellow 20 million years ago

I just go by the fact that volcanoes shoot out more CO2 everyday than the states shoots out in a month.
Not to mention the fact that CO2 causes rapid growth of plants.
Earth is fine, we might get fucked but the Earth can take quite a pounding.

It's an impressive system, not my cup of tea but still, a necessary cultural improvement. As we continue to multiply like rabbits (which we are, overpopulation is going to be our next big problem) we need a way to make more food without using up too much space. Hence, the vertical growing.

That's neat. There are a few cool hydro systems (quasi nft) that can be made with vertical pvc. Jeff Mowta had a few designs in a book I was thumbing through.

Before people poo-poo hydroponics (ie: un-natural etc...) there is nothing unhealthy about it. Nutes, water, air is being provided and can be exactly measured to maximize plant growth and potential. For example a nutrient uptake chart shows the pH range for specific macro and micro nutrients is around 5.5 - 5.7 (units) at that point the tds ppm (or ec for our European brothers) can be maximized. If flushed properly there is little difference between soil and hydro. Organics! Yes you can grow organicly in hydroponics. IMHO organincs flavor the turpens hence the "taste" but to the plant for potency and growth nutes are nutes.

Soil is nice and forgiving though!

I said this the other day to my girl only to be called "a fucking idiot" and "shut up!"
Climate change is a natural occurance, although we may be speeding up the process its gonna happen anyway.
I think a lot of what your told in the news is there to scare you into relying on politicians if the shit ever does go down. But fuck them, i could get hit by a bus tomorow.
Dont get me wrong i give a shit about the plannet its just ive bigger things to worry about.

I'm sorry, I didnt mean to take it to an extreme, it's just one of my few pet peeves. And I do believe that we are polluting the Earth in unhealthy ways, but it isn't as big as the marjoity of people think.
