he should use windows to get the FBI off his back and then just dual-boot Ubuntu. it isnt his problem the FBI cant keep up with technology.

Oddly enough, torrents arent illegal because they arent pirated software. basically, a torrent file only contains information to connect to clients and the file name.

besides that, you have to copy software for it to be pirated. what if I copy a DVD and convert it to avi and send it to you. I pirated the 'software' but you would posses a file that is totally different than what I copied. when a piece of software is totally original and wasnt copied from a protected source, it cant possibly be pirated.

of coarse, you would need a judge that knows wth you are talking about to convince him/her.

 

I always say, if you go to the store and buy a tape/cd, then make a copy of it for a friend ... your going to go to prison for 25 years. Thats just the way it is.

 

yeah for real. that is just making a plain copy and the record companies dont like that.

i used to make music and i sold a good number of CD's. i really didnt care if ppl copied my CD's. it would only make me mad if they copied it and tried to sell it or maybe didnt include my name on it or something.

the record companies are the guys who will rape ya. the artist's usually just support the record companies because thats like their boss.

but who cares.
