The four surviving puppies are being treated at the Escambia County Animal Shelter.

A man who tried to shoot seven puppies was shot himself when one of the dogs put its paw on the revolver's trigger.

Jerry Allen Bradford, 37, was charged with felony animal cruelty, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday. He was being treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound to his wrist.

Bradford said he decided to shoot the 3-month-old shepherd-mix dogs in the head because he couldn't find them a home, according to the sheriff's office.

On Monday, Bradford was holding two puppies -- one in his arms and another in his left hand -- when the dog in his hand wiggled and put its paw on the trigger of the .38-caliber revolver. The gun then discharged, the sheriff's report said.

Deputies found three of the puppies in a shallow grave outside Bradford's home, said sheriff's Sgt. Ted Roy.

The other four appeared to be in good health and were taken by Escambia County Animal Control, which planned to make them available for adoption.

    I saw this also..yay pup!!!

If you can't find them a home. take them to the shelter at least, they were so cute..I'm sure someone would have adopted them.

The Dog Warden in my county(adams couty ohio) is beng investigated for shooting dogs that he picks up, people went ot the pound for their dog within 48 hours of him being loose and he had already been disposed of. They asked around the area and now the news team is out there saying people in the area hear gunshots all the time over there at the pound.
When the news team went into the pound there were boxes of .38 caliber bullets on his desk...he said they use them for viscious dogs...bullshit.

I would have a hard time shooting anything except the lawyer that took care of my divorce and ended up getting all that alimony for my x-wife, that bitch.Just kidding, kinda.

Last night, we found one of our outside cats had been attacked by some animal and although it was still alive it had lost alot of blood with what I could see, there was no chance of living. I got my trusty 22 out.............. It was the first time I ever killed anything but it had to be done.

To bad the guy that was killing the puppies didn't get shoot in the balls.

Oh I know that tore you up...

I've had to on 2 occasions kill an animal beacause there was no hope and to put it out of misry was the kindest thing to do.

Just recently, Larry and I were riding into town and a pup ran out in front of us. Somehow its little leg got caught up in our whell and about ripped off, I jumped out to try to help it but no way, blood was pumping everywhere and leg almost totally off. I had to yell to him to grab the pipe wrench he keeps in the truck....

I got back in and waited...when he got done and back in the truck, he was crying...fucking people who let their innocent pups run along the road...!!

Damn... Someone could make a killing turning that into a B movie... I can already imagine the dramatic soundtrack.
