ive posted like three already today.....i got one more question..... im wanting to keep my plant fairly small but bushy....ive heard that i should clip the top......now when should i do this and how should i go about doing it.....ive had the plant growing good now for about 3 months so im wandering when and how to do this!!???? Thanx Peace + Love + MaryJane
You can top a plant at anytime, once it's reached 4 or 5 nodes (pairs of branches). Just cut off the main growing shoot (tip of the plant) and the next two leaves down will take over as two new tips!
^^^honestly i've never noticed a difference......i've topped in the morning and before night-time.......no differing results...... I topped a couple of my outdoors plants when they were around 2months old (roughly 4ft tall) They are now roughly 3.5 months old and 6ft tall, 4-5ft wide.......still veggin hardcore, when flowering hits these are going to be some big bushes............im guessin 7-8ft tall, 7-8ft wide......the ones that i didn't top are around the same age but 7-8ft tall.....maybe get a couple 10 footers
i grow outdoors, if i top it will it have enough time to grow up for it to make a difference with how much weed i get. growth has been fairly slow height wise so im really not sure if i should top it or not any opinions?
if its a slow growing plant i would advise not topping it. sounds like it will stay fairly short any way and if its slow growing and you top it, it's going to be hating life having to grow 2 tips instead of one
