It hit Jamaica with winds as high as 230 miles per hour.

 

That is terrible. How high do tornado winds get?

Do you think Jamaica will still have some palm trees standing? I never understood how after all the storms they get they still have some sturdy trees.

I don't know where the place was that a storm (could be this one) hit and it blew over the prison. It is on a Island. Now there are people with no homes and inmates running around. Talk about one nightmare after the next.

 

I just hope it doesn't come up my way. That frances shit was rough enough, and it wasn't even that bad by the time it got to us. (just a tropical storm or depression or something)

Peanut, tornados get a LOT faster than that. They can have winds over 300 MPH.

 

And after all the work Reagan did we're still being tormented by those damn Russians.

 

Ivan is HUGE!!!!! He is going to destroy Jamaica. If you go to the weather channel site there is a huge red blob movin'. Hopefully no one is there and that they evacuated the Island.

 

I'm sick of hurricanes, frances ruined this past labor day weekend for me and now another storm is coming. im starting to think that terrorists have figured out how to make hurricanes and are sending them to florida for pseudo electing bush.

 

I bet they all areok, Jamaicans can all afford to fly away at a moments notice.

im not so optomistic about this one.3 strikes your out,3rd times a charm,bad things come in 3's,i dunno,im starting to feal somewhat harrassed by mother nature,im on the east coast so i know im gonna be getting something

 

The fact that the country's main export is probably Maijuana has caught up with them and shows in their laziness and unprepairedness.

To connect smoking maryjuana to certain tragedy due to a hurricane is quite a leap even if you have watched the matrix too many times on crack. Those people have nowhere to go, that storm is as big as their island. Even in florida there is nowhere to go, frances was huge and ivan is no joke.

 

I think they can the same speed as a huricane but they are much faster and harder to get away from than a hurricane. (Hurricanes are worse though because they spawn tornados but tornados can't spawn a hurricane.) (thank goodness)

 

I'm supposed to be flying out to Jamaica next month - staying in Negril. Just might have to give my hotel a call to make sure it's still there.
