Whether it's cigs or something else, I just ask them.... I wait until I get comfortable with them, though, and then I just kind of ask, like it's no big deal either way. You don't have to be all shady or anything. Just DO it!
that works fine for ciggarettes, but you can't really whip out a doobie in public (sadly) -felt like I need one more smiley life and love
