with tim robbins? eric idle? fuck yeah. fucking aweseom movie. i love the woman getting killed during the viking raid, and she's all "it's alright!"
it used to be one of my favorites. i saw it when i was a kid, back when you'd have to change your cable channel by walkin up there and pushing a button on the box. sheesh. that was AGES ago. but then, we were practically prehistoric in our technology. we didn't get a vhs until i was 16.
That one is a good movie, anyone ever see "Jabberwocky" same group of guys, everyone should see everything done by the Monty Python crew!
i don't remember whether i saw it or not. i do remember hearing about it. i DO remember going to see yellow beard with a bunch of s.c.a. types. i think they were telling baaaaad sheeeep jokes the rest of the night. if this was back in the early to mid 80s, that was along about the time i actually did go see quite a few movies. and then a number of porsfoids who had vcr's hosted 'afters' and 'time parties' and so on at their houses. if i did see it, and it was in this era, that's most likely where i would have, as i think i remember most of what i saw at actual movie houses. we did go on turkey movie crawls, something which mst3k considerably reminded me of. i DID see a bunch of monty python stuff, including what many consider to be some of their less memorable efforts, like the secret policeman's other ball. the one i missed because it was after that time was life of brian. i also saw a bunch of the mel brooks ones. starting with blazing saddles, young fronkinschtine, and the already mentioned yellow beard. =^^= .../\...
terry jones wrote a book called eric the viking not entirely based on the film and it's totally worth tracking down. it's perfect to read to kids or anyone. it's got a classic quality.
