Are there any musicians here that use fruity loops
I just want to know - is this considered an professional
    software or an amateurs software?
If it is for amateurs - why is that ?
    why dont pro's use it?

which program is best at what is a highly debated subject in computer music world. I know "pro's" who use fruity loops. Hell, I know pro's who use old school Atari's. It all depends on what you want to do with it. The basic package fruity comes with is shit. I mean, it really, really sucks. If you get nice plugins for it though, then it becomes infinitely better, but I would never put it in the same category as Cubase, Logic, or Protools. That said, it can do almost everything those programs can do, it's just harder to get it to do it. You really have to know your way around to do certain things, and there are a ton of shortcuts to learn to make it more streamlined (like grouping patterns to get it out of the traditional, very linear look). For doing formulaic, straight up electronica, when cash is low, accept no substitutes.

Pros do use it. I use it for my music. Hehe, when I listen at the digitally imported website, I every once in a while recognize a voice or something that is on fruity loops.

But make sure you get the WHOLE package. Get XL not that basic crap. And buy the "FL Bible" (you can get it at Barnes & Noble), it will teach you absolutely everything with plenty of tips of tricks.

It's more simple than Cubase/Logic/ProTools, but with good vst plugins, you can do the most of the stuffs in it. If you prefer the tracker like pattern sequencer stuff over the other one's, just use FL. There are some professional artists who use fruity, but also a lot of people notice who use it, it's not a bad thing to import the fl tracks in cubase, and do the mix there, since cubase does it better than fl.
Okay actually I said nothing new, that the others didn't said. [IMG]
Venetian Snares... Actually he uses a tracker (!!) software for his tracks. :p

I use it for my tracks. It's all I have at the moment. I'm getting some new software soon though.

You see thats my main worry about Fruity Loops. If you don't manipulate the effects etc, people will recognise the audio.

    Check out my tunes...

Any program can be used to make sounds. I get pissed when people consider software to be under them or whatever. It is usually rooted in the fact that they have more money to buy "better" programs and they want to be superior to others so they scoff at shit like fruity loops.

Fruity loops is amazing. After a while you uncover so much shit you can do with it, I have been making music with it (among other progs and instruments) for 5-6 years now.

I use Fruityloops. I make darkwave/ethereal a la Lycia and Alcest, but I'm not a pro, and haven't even gotten full understanding of the program yet (learning as I go by, I guess).

I don't know what is considered pro and what is not, and frankly, I don't really care.
What counts in the end is if it works for you, right? :)
