With the right person a dictatorship would be awesome, wouldn't you think so? Why or why not? To me, it would change the U.S. drastically for better if an election for it were to be held every 4 years. And if the person is well liked then they should get to get a 2nd term like now how it is with the presidency. More kinds of ppl with law changing ideas for a better country could run for the chance to be elected as dictator. That would be cool. I do think that if a dictator cant keep their word prior to election they should be legally assasinated if the majority of the public calls for it. Check this out: Under my dictatorship (these are some rules that would apply under my dictatorship of the U.S. in no specific order): 1. Growth and sale of marijuana and safe prostitution would be made legal. 2. There will be no more life sentences handed out. 3. Deathrow inmates would be given a speedy option for execution. 4. Public universities would be free. 5. Ppl found with uncurable diseases (excluding less sever mental illnesses) and viruses would be tracked down and contained and then put to death as painless as possible for population control and national security. 6. Money would be spent on the poor instead of national defence and war and nasa. 7. The legal adult age would be lowered to 16 years of age. 8. Minium wage would be raised to 15 dollars an hour (either put up or shut down is the motto). 9. Ppl found out as poor that commit robbery or theft would be set free to go (they're made figures! I said let em go!) 10. Job applications can no longer have criminal background questioning. 11. Employors can no longer do criminal background checks (why punish someone who has served their punishment good enough already? Doesnt make sense!). 12. Assistant suicide and abortion would be made legal for more population control. 13. Legalize bookieing on sporting events. Just for fun: How would your dictatorship rules go if you were the dictator?
Basically, I would apply the communist model: 1.The media would no longer be able to make sensationalistic or stupid broadcasts which impede intellectual development and generate fear, insecurity, superficiality, division of the classes, ethnicities or races. It would be used to foster positive human attributes like curiosity, creativity, respect and objectivity. 2. Drugs would be de-criminalized, but also de-glamorized. 3. Heaps of social programs, universal education standards, free health care for everyone, free and equal distribution of food and basic necessities, elimination of the class system, joint employee ownership of all means of production. 4. Assignment of all means of production to a series of geographical areas-- instead of competitively producing basically identical products in a series of scattered locations, different areas would be producing different goods in single, much larger facilities-- saving time, money, fuel, etc... 5. Elimination of 'status' as it relates to occupation-- the importance and necessity of all types of employment would be emphasized. 6. All citizens would receive luxury allowances as work incentives. 7. All manufacturers would provide basic goods without the added 'prestige' value of the so-called 'brand names'. Noisy, competitive advertising would be banned. That's it for now!
Sorry, you are both putzes. I don't want to live under any bigger dictatorship than what we have now, and I'll be happy when the Bushes are out of office and take Cheney with them.
I think this confrims my theory that (almost) everybody is a fascist, as long as they get to be the dictator.
Not all dictatorships are automatically fascist-- it's more who has power and the way order is maintained. In fascism it's the military through force, in capitalism it's the businessmen through money, and in communism it's the workers through social programs.
Not really true, for example under communism they forced people to work menial positions as punishment for political crimes.
This I can agree with Does this mean there would be a limit of like 20 years or would life sentences all turn into capital cases? Good idea in therory, but the question comes up of how to fund this. This sounds like Nazi euthanasia, like what about herpes, that can't be cured, but almost 1 in 6 people have it. See here you're not thinking of long term effects, say you drastically cut the military budget, then you have millions of people in the military or people who's jobs are connected to it who face unemployment, for example here in CT when they wanted to close to Groton sub base last year it caused a shit storm cause near 30,000 people would've lost their jobs. And NASA, people always bitch about NASA, but no one bothers to go look at all the science that has come out of NASA in the past 40 years, I don't mean just in space but every day items we use that comes from NASA research. Not a bad idea, I just remember being 16 and the idiots I had in my school, but maybe if 16 year olds could vote and such they'd be more interested in life in general. This would just cause hyper-inflation and tank the economy I don't know, it's one thing to steal food or something to feed your family, but being poor shouldn't be an excuse to get away with robbery in general. If you owned a company you'd sure want to know if the person you're hiring as ever been convicted of serrious crime I like the idea, but the term population control is very disturbing
