Only 2 days before I can legally buy and drink alcohol. Even though I've been drinking for a while now, this will be a huge day for me. I haven't really cared about my past few birthdays....but this one is gonna make for some nights I will never forget. This coming saturday you can find me bottle in hand, cruising the grooviest part of Louisville, or Kentucky for that matter, in a pimpin Limo with some of the best people on this side of the Mississippi. I haven't looked forward to anything like this in a LONG time. Then the first week of Oct. I'm going on a road trip to Cleveland. We're gonna go check out the Rock N Roll Hall of fame, and the most poppin bars in Cleveland.....and then going to see Slightly Stoopid at the House of Blues. Good times are to be had by all! PEACE
Yea my 21st birthday was special for me, because I had been drinking since I was (way too young) and had developed a fairly large amount of knowledge concerning micro/imported beers, only, I never before was able to go in to the importer and see for myself my options. I always relied on the tastes of others who were of age to buy beer for me, and my tastes are largely different from that of the majority of people who would go in for me. I have since quit drinking, (save for a few this weekend, special circumstances of course) but still, happy b-day and be safe -
Nope... and it's not advisable either but people are going to do what they're going to do. I'm guessing he'll have the open bottle will be in the back of a rented limo which is ok... and great fun! I get the sense that the OP is smarter that to ride in or drive a passenger car with an open bottle. I took a two hour limo ride with friends to Boston for new year's '96. Much champaign and beer was consumed. Much fun was had. It was perhaps one of the greatest times of my life so far.
All I can say is "Kentucky" is an important part of "Kentucky Bourbon". Enough of that nectar and any place in Kentucky becomes groovy. Need I say more?
Happy birthday. Now you will never look forward to another birthday again. (really) I just turned 22, and it was not anything to be excited about. You're just getting older now...
Ah lucky man. I too look forward to turning 21, but I still have a while longer (little less than 9 months). It'll be one less restriction and, hell, just a convenience (I hate that I can't buy my own beer). Happy early birthday.
Thank you all for posting.... My boss let me off work early tonight so I could by my first legal beer, and they didn't even card me lol. Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, Wild Turkey, and a couple more are all distilled less than an hour from me. And there is an area just outside of Louisville called the Highlands. This place has tons of cool head shops, music shops, hemp shops, book store coffee shops, and bars on every corner. Two or three bars are known for having great live music. Pretty groovy place if you ask me
