The philosophy/religion room would be a more appropriate forum for this material. This room tends to be more fast paced, like the quickies on Laugh-In. .
i prefer my universe impersonal, because generally i find personalities to be a pain in the ass. which doesn't mean there can't be or arn't all sorts of things. maybe even one or more gods. or goddessess. and almost certainly a whole lot way strainger then anything any of us has ever imagined or is ever likely to. diversity is observable, and rather strongly, at least to my mind, suggest the work of many hands and minds, if hands or minds at all, far more so then any one. try creating diversity yourself, in an image or in miniature making if you don't see what i mean. and we're talking massive diversity here. just on this earth to you have any idea how many different species of creatures there are? even if you subtract all the bugs and micro-organisms and other small fry. it may be one thing for the ego to say it couldn't have happened without a who, but i'm sorry, i don't see how it could have been done BY one, no matter how super everything it might otherwise have been or be. =^^= .../\...
Then why can't you say the same thing about the universe - that it and everything in it has always existed?
The human body isn't perfect, ie, vomeronasal organ, palmaris muscle, the tailbone, pyramidalis muscle, males having nipples, extrinsic ear muscles, all uselessor functional, nor is anyones body perfectly symetrical, nor can humans shoot lasers out of their eyes or fly without machines, so not perfect.
That is the greatness of God, and his supernatural self. Why do you only consider diversity in animals and stuff, if you just take anything which you believe is made by God, you will see within that one thing how many million different diversified ideas have gone into making just that one thing, lets say the human body. Can you imagine the no. of viens, bones, each and every minute tissue which has such major function to contribute in a human body. If that One God can make so many diversifications and put together so many things in just one body, its common sense that He can make everything else aswell. The problem that i have noticed with most of you posting here is, that you guys compare God with Human beings, you think it this way that if a human being can't do it how can God do it ! .. But that is the main problem, a human being cannot even put life into an object how can you consider thinking him to do what that Almighty, Super Natural God can do.
--- What illogical argument !! .. When i say perfect it means, how everything has been miracliously put into proportion for it to function, millions of things functioning in just one human body or earth is not by chance, there definately is some driving force.
clearly. i think he's missing the point that most of us are making that "god" is neither necessary for the current state of affairs nor proven to be the reason for it.
@ Post Humous What wrong did i say?? .. Do you have answers or arguments? , we can have a healthy discussion. =]
These biological attributes did not appear overnight but took 3.5 billion years and hundreds of trillions of biological experiments to develop. Go read a frickin science book for a change. I'm done with you.
You believe that the universe exists, as there's pretty good evidence for it. Now, what's more plausible: the universe being "eternal" and "self-caused" (these are sloppy terms, hence the scare-quotes), or postulating some new entity for which there's no evidence or experience to demonstrate its existence, and then saying that that's eternal? In other words, should we stop the regress at the known, or make stuff up and extend the regress further?

listen, i'm a believer in the energy of things, in the connectedness and it's beauty, in the power of thinking and even wishing on things that have come about however they came about. i believe in interacting with our universe's energy, it's sensible to me. but the god concept as propagated by the islamic faith, i must confess, leaves me cold.
I have a different take than the rest of you on these topics. Who created Everything?? What do you guys think, Who created the world? 1) Who assembled the Human body, and made it so perfectly that every thing is planned in perfect proportion, each organ functions with millions of veins and parts of the body put together? SHAFT! (You're damn right!) 2) Who puts and takes out the soul from every Human being? SHAFT! (Can you dig it?) 3) Why is everything Mortal yet, there is one Divine force which is making things happen from Million n Million of years? SHAFT! (Right on!) 4) Who created the Stars, Moon, Animals, Sun light, Human body ?? How did everything come into existence ?? SHAFT! (Shut Yo Mouth!)
