I agree that she has some good power balads, but that's all....Never mind, we're not gonna argue over this, are we?.... She's just not my 'cup of tea', you know..... I don't think we've met before, where're you from?...I'm from Kraljevo, btw, and soon to be in Belgrade (in 2 weeks or so)..... And, yeah, welcome to the hipforums
Hey Well, the thing is that in our country pop music went pretty low and got closer to what we call 'turbo folk' music by using elements of turkish folk....Goca has some good and quality songs (mostly power balads) but there are only few pop musicians here that can resist slipping into folk.... But, when I was a little girl tap 011 was my favorite band
I don't want to argue just talking I'm from Valjevo, studding in Belgrade and thank you for your welcome, nice to meet you. Well, Goca bought me with her woice and her balads, I'm not a big fan of "tralala" songs, but today is dificult to succes in our country with quallity music.. 1-2 comercial cachy songs on CD, not big deal I wote for good music, and that's the only thing that metters!
What are you studying?...I just got into civil ingeneering and I'm so excited about my freshman year.... What do you like besides Goca's music?....Yeah, our country is hell for quality musicians, unfortunately they just can't survive next to all those "Grand parades"....Sad but true... Yeah, what's your name, by the way?...
I've always got my antennas up for the good vibes out there. If the good vibes ALSO make it into the charts, it's OK by me, BUT I will refuse to listen to songs/artists just because they're in the charts!
I'm studing Spanish and Ucrainian language. It's exciting to explore different cultures and languages. But my English is bad, I have to work a little bit on it Except Goca, I don't listen much Serbian music. Ivana Pavlovic have magnificent woice, Ceca Slavkovic too, but Ceca unfortunatelly doesn't sing any more.. sisters Kovach are great, I'm glad that they finally done something different! Charts doesn't make good songs It's about making choce.. would you rather listen what is popular at the moment, or what you actually like. I like ambiental, soul, rock.. some pop, and my favourite singer is Annie Lennox. I don't make strictly calassifications like "pop, rock, r'n'b, .." i classificate music in two groups "good music" and "bad music" and, almost forgat.. my name is Dusanka.
I don't mind musical genres...it's only a question of terminology really (sorry if my professional distortion shows..I'm in the lingo biz, heheh). Good music and bad music? I don't know.....I see the art of muisc as being rather SUBJECTIVE really....what I hate are peeps who point their critical finger at certain types of music just because it's alternative to mainstream e.g. psychedelic music is generally considered as being music for junkies......that's absolutely REVOLTING in my op!! I don't dig wimpy disco music, but I don't go around pointing my finger at who digs it!! Rob
yes! well that's what I'm saying, maybie I dodn't put it in right words.. but I completely agree with you. 100 people 100 different tastes and that's ok. my life "parol" is "live and let live"...
Hey, nice to meet you, Dusanka!.. I'm glad there are sisters Kovach, they're one of the rear serbian musicians to make quality pop music (even though they're mostly just copying western standards), our scene needs something like that.... Ivana Pavlovic is going to be my neighbor in Belgrade, hehe, I met her baby daughter And yeah, I agree with you, I think that in any genre you can find good and quality music (for example, I don't like hip hop, but Marchelo is one of my favorite lyricists).... Rob, that's true, music is subjective, but so is any other art.....
you SAID THE MAGICAL word---ART, 'coz that's what muisc is.....TRUE ART, not a surrogate for anything else!!! VIVA MUSIC FOREVER!!!...the UNIVERSAL lingo together with LOVE!
it's nice to know that you don't have prejudices and listen music because you like it, not because it's fancy, or whatever... music is manner of life btw. Goca will probably record a duet with her friend and old colleague from group "Tap011" - Ivana Pavlovic
^ When will that happen?...That would be interesting.... BTW, since I moved to Belgrade, Ivana Pavlovic is my neighbor, she lives right below me
well, I don't know actually.. but they have that in plan, so, we can expect that to happen till the end of the year say hello to Ivana!
I actually saw her only 2 or 3 times in the hall, but as soon I meet her, I'll say hello to her from you....
