So I've been this completely grounded person all my life. I've always known what I've wanted to do, and hey, I've basically planned out my whole life. But now I feel I want to travel, live the bohemium way, go from place to place in a haze of trying to find myself. I want to meet new people, see new places, and hell, I'd love to live in a commune!
But the life I live at the moment is restrictive, it's like, do my AS and A levels (UK exams for getting into university), go to university and get a geography degree (andlive a little whilst I'm there), get a job in geography and drive a VW camper. There's no room for finding my self! What do I do??

why dont you take a year or two off, before you go to uni?
i think that would be my dream, just to explore and travel before i have to come back, and settle down a bit. Get a steady job (hopefully something with like commercial art, designing, advertising etc) or...maybe my life will turn out completely different to that

i know how you feel, you want to do all this stuff, but then feel as though you wont have time, and everything has to be done RIGHT NOW :S

Alot of students take a gap year, to travel and such (if they can afford it). It helps to give you some life expereince, time to think about where you want your life to go. You are still very young, and have plenty of time for choices and fun, so make the most of it.:)

I can only afford a gap month and glastonbury at the moment, the year I'm 18 is gonn be the best summer ever, basically glastonbury, home, off to volunteer at a woolie monkey sanctuary in cornwall then camping around, it's the nearest I'll get i think.

I know exactly how you feel sister! It's so unfair that the whole world wants us to spend our lives working. There's more to life than just work all the time. I want to live just like you do sister! Only problem is that I don't think I'm going to be able to afford a gap year either. Just remember hun, where there's a will, there's a way. I know it seems difficult but I believe that fate will bring you the life that you want and the life that feels right for you. Even if it seems virtually impossible now, it will happen for you. Don't worry!
Much peace and love wished you way my sister!
