Yup they are back with a new album and it is FUCKING AMAZING! All tracks are fantastic and the lyrics are just pure genius! It is a bit of a sad album but amazing all the same. Some classics on there and nice accoustic track which is GRAND! AMZING! Highly highly recommended! If you've heard it tell us what you think
I saw the Libertines at Reading festival and thought they were pretty bally amazing (yes, "bally"). What's happening with them now? When they performed it was without Pete, though rumours were flying that he had bought a backstage ticket and was keen to play a last gig with them. Is he definitely out? Forgive my lack of Libertine knowledge, but I've only really just discovered them and feel kinda sad to have missed out on the days of Pete.
I read about Pete turning up at Reading trying to play with the boy but the 'important boss people' had said he was not allowed on stage with them. They said that if Carl saw that Pete was sober he would have let him on stage. It is that very thing that what I think makes the album sad. A friendship can be broken by one thing. He is out of the band yes... I dunno for how long or if forever. I have seen The Libertines three times.. once with Pete and Twice without Pete and to be fair they rock either way .. when Pete is with them there is slightly a bit more mayhem.. but Carl does a fine job. And what can I say about that drummer! Fucking amazing! The Libertines will go down as legends in my eyes
I want to check out this album. I saw the libertines in a pub a couple of years ago, they were really good. Full of energy and a kind of rawness that I really liked. My mate also got to see them and the jammy sod got taken backstage to do some coke with the lads, he said it was one of the best nights of his life.
Did someone say The Libertines? They're very good not my favourite but really good. They remind of a heavy Beatles (but not as famous etc) but that sort of sound and stuff and they're original compared to other bands today like The Rasmus or something else crap.
