Lookaftering was awesome.... but man, Just Another Diamond Day is sooo good, i cant stop listening to it... mainly "jog along bess".... its so awesome
i got into vashti bunyan due to devendra banhart...before devendra got known, he sent her his music to ask her if "this was really the type of music he should be making", and she said she loved it. i didnt really even know she did a duet with devendra on "rejoicing in the hands" tell i read that she did...i thought it was just devendra singing over himself then i heard just another diamond day, and it really touched my heart...but i also really like lookaftering because its as if she never took a 35 year gap between making her second album, but just another diamond day is the better album...the whole life of vashti bunyan facinates me. she wouldnt even of gotten back into music if she didnt look up her own name on the internet, and see how much of a cult success just another diamond day became.
I could listen to "Just Another Diamond Day" all day, "Rose Hip November" is a favourite, anyone ever notice how similar "Daughter" from the Espers debut album sounds to "Rose Hip November"
i like her a lot, but i haven't heard much of her new album yet. where i like to stand has got to be my favorite song from just another diamond day. i found out about her because of the string band member's apperances on her first album.
long time since last post.... but what about her Prospect Hummer EP together with Animal Collective. That my friends, are some awesome songs! And her albums are both very good also!
Wow.. Strangely Ive just started listening to vashti bunyan, i'm ashamed to admit I first heard her on a tv commercial... mobile phone advert i believe. And I needed to find that song, but fortunately stumbled upon it without actively looking! Just another diamond day... such a gentle voice....
lookaftering is my favourite. Here before has got to be one of the best pieces of music around. Its so enchanting and fairy goddess like it's crazy.
Yeah Vashti's fantastic... this connection to Devandra though...man it's so lame... i honestly dont see why that guy is up there. Sorry if that offends anyone. Vashti though.... incredible women. Hey another lost folk gem is Jonathan Kelly man... fanstastic guy, I had the pleasure of getting to know him a'bit on my last tour in Europe. ~Amadeo www.myspace.com/thevagabondtroubadour
