Well i havent always been a talkitive person, i have really bad anxiety, ( a lot of social fear with people) but anyways Im perscribed a pill called paxil to help with my anxiety, now ive never tripped before but I know a bit about bad trips and such, and how they relate to fear and anxiety.. But if ive already got anxiety will tripping not be a good idea? or should it not have any effect, because right away before i take a hit, i know ill be worrying a bad trip, should this have any affect, and does anyone have any reccomendations for my 1st trip? such as shrooms, or lsd, etc

LSD will make your anxiety and fear completely disappear. Acid makes me the happiest person on the planet and it feels genuine. It'll open you up socially and stuff will just be fun.

As for Acid's reaction with Paxil, which is an SSRI, I don't know. However I'm almost sure there would be a reaction of some sort. Someone will know the answer to that.

I've done it a few times, and I'm sort of in the same case as you.
By sort of, I mean, I don't take any meds for anxiety.

I am not a very expressive person with people I don't know very well.
I don't get anxious usually, though.

If you take LSD, I would suggest you do it with someone who has done it before.
If you do it with two or three people you know, providing at least one of you is experienced (general rule for first timers), you'll have one hell of a time.

Wether you are generally talkative or not, you should be very much so - even expressive - when on the acid.

Just remember that LSD works hand in hand with your subconcious mind. If you don't have a nice clear and relaxed mind, things may go south.
Thinking that you're going to have the time of your life when taking acid, well, you generally do have the time of your life.

Acid can magnify your fears tenfold. you could have moments when you're the happiest person on the planet and moments when you're extremely paranoid because your anxieties are magnified and distorted. If you have social phobia then avoid society, trip in a remote place with a small number of people who don't expect you to talk.
some SSRIs inhibit the effects of acid.

I think fear and anxiety only come from taking too much or being overwhelmed by the trip. If you take a dose your comfortable with you certainly will have the time of your life. The potency of what you're taking is highly dependent on how it was taken care of before it got to you. LSD is pretty sensitive, and light will be it's worst enemy in the normal dealer-to-dealer transactions.

I'd suggest a tab for your first time if it's been properly cared for.

I've never personally taken LSD, so I guess I don't really help, but I'm gonna agree with everyone else. Just relax and don't worry about it. If you go into it thinking bad things are gonna happen, they probably will. Just chill out, find some friends to do it with you and have fun. By the way, in my experience with any psychedelics, I find it best to be around people who I really enjoy. Close friends who you enjoy being around and that don't get on your nerves. Peace and have a safe trip.

At woodstock, they told everyone that the "brown tabs are bad".

Majority of those who ate the brown tabs had bad trips only because they were expecting it to be bad.

In reality, as far as I know, there is no such thing as a bad tab. It all does the same thing - it's your mind that makes it bad.

So, I guess that backs things up a little.

I am also a very withdrawn, socially awkward and avoidant kind of guy. Bit of a loner with a melancholic disposition.

But once every few months a good friend and I go tripping together, and those days are always among the coolest and most positive ones in my life. No fear, no paranoia, no anxiety - in fact, I become extremely bouncy and have a big grin plastered on my face for the whole duration. I think that if you make sure all people around you that day are people you know and care about, and that you're in a place you're familiar with and feel at home in, nothing should go wrong.

HOWEVER - we always do shrooms and I've never tried LSD, so I can't testify on that. It might be way different, I have no idea.

I'm not sure if I would go that far. Personally I don't think someone should trip if they have any anxiety about it at all. Nothing good can come from that. So if you're comfortable with the idea take some time and rest with it, then when you're completely comfortable go ahead and try it if that's what you want to do.

In general; I feel if you're asking yourself if you should trip, you probably shouldn't.

I have anxiety, depression, ADHD and a couple other disorders. I do not take any sort of medication for it (I don't believe in it). I have tripped on LSD many times before, but I have never had a bad trip. I also don't believe that it has made my disorders worse, but it has changed me in a strange way... Maybe it's made me more "out there" because I can think more creatively now... I would go for the tripping man, I think it might help you face your anxiety. Good luck!

I have aa mate whos mr anxiety and is on some sort of medication for it.

Before he went on teh medication he was a wreck both times he took LSD.

The first time i had to cousel him the whoel way and he figured it was a really positive experience all in all despite havign a bad over anxious, paranoid trip.

teh second time he was blown away and although he claims it was teh most amazing experience ever ew had to CONSTANTLY tell him that things were fine and no one was trying to shoot him/rape him/beat him up/talkign abotu him etc etc etc.

Having said that, he's not only anxious but deeply negative and somewhat socially incapable of being normal. so yeah he's got a lot on his plate poor fella.

    No more lucy for him!
    :p
