In the last two months I have had hardware failleft and right and don't knowwhy. First the EZ DUB burner quits working and reading and then afewdays ago my keyboard stopped working on the left side .About 1/3rd of the keysjust stopped working-It's a Saitek Eclipse lighted board and the light alsowent out. I tookit inand was tolditwas gone. This is only 15 months old!-I read a post on another tech site and others have had this same 2 of these keyboards fail for no reason also' So' I would say not to buy one also I dropped my Vivatar didital camera a couple days ago and it stopped working. Are these cameras that easy to break? It fell about 3 feet onto a tile floor without the case on. So' I replaced the keyboard' and now need to get another burner and camera I guess. None of these were over 100 bucks and not worth fixing but has anyone had trouble with any of these products?-I don't need to buy brands that don't hold up.
Have you had your electricity checked? I had a similar experience years ago, and when my much-loved tube stereo went, too, I had the power checked. I was having minor brownouts and also some voltage spikes. Power company fixed it, and the problems went away.
Treat electronics like digital cameras as if they were a glass. dont drop a glass onto cement. your computer problem sounds like your OS has issues or maybe you were a little too rough on the hardware. one time i yanked on my keyboard cord and it stopped working. I fixed it of coarse but one of the wires came loose. intermitent problems are usually hardware or Microsoft related.
Well'the burner went out little by little. First it started by not opening when I tried to put a disk in 'then it started to not burn 'then it quit reading all together. I re-installed it a few times but still won't work. The keyboard never got yanked or dropped or anything spilled on it Now' the camera was my fault' I dropped it but you would think they would survive one 3 ft.drop.Hell' I had one of those 10.00 plastic underwater disposable cameras and you could slam that thing all over and not hurt it.-But it was'nt digital either. The computer itself is working fine-I keep it super clean and defragged.-I bought a cordless mouse but that thing went through the batteries way too fast. I was constantly recharging those things so I went back to corded. How are the wireless keyboards on batteries?
It pays to check product reviews before buying-Ijust foundthisone about the EZ DUB BURNER FROMLITE ON-Mine just quit and the buttons never worked: Absolute JUNK!, August 16, 2007 By M. A. Stuart (midwest, usa) - See all my reviews Lite on is pathetic. This is now the SECOND burner I've had that died in less than an year and a half. Within 6 months, the dub button on top, which is the point of this unit, totally quit working. Trying to get technical support from an English speaking person is like trying to talk to a Martian at Lite On. OK, so it's now the "hard dub" because the button doesn't work, but the burner still did... until last week, when it just quit totally! I again tried contacting "tech support" and they didn't even respond this time. The other Lite On I owned was an internal burner a few years ago that didn't even last one year, so I should have known better. In my opinion, the products of this company should be avoided like boils in your guts, because that's how disgusting and painful they are! Comment | Was this review helpful to you? (Report this)
Another review of the Lite on ez DUB------they have themat Walmart and for the same price Walmart has a Sony that is real fast and dependable- After reading the other reviews we bought this burner thinking it was the perfect solution. Unfortunately we were never able to get it to work for us! The setup of the unit was easy and the software installation was simple but when we tried to use it to record something...nothing. The EZ-Dub drive would recognize and play Audio CD's and DVD's but, the start buttons on the top of the unit that is supposed to initiate the two record functions were completely inoperative. We tried everything. We tried Uninstalling the software and reinstalling it several times, we did every troubleshooting point given to us by the help files, we checked all the drivers on both ports and still nothing. We then went to the technical support from the manufacturer at the provided 1-800 number...guess what...I'ts no longer active and the 1-800 is no more. Now you have to dial their long distance number and only during weekdays working hours. Very frustrating. What we did then was go onto the live "online chat" with the tech support guys in an effort to get this problem solved. After about 1.5 hours the tech support people were stumped and gave up as well. Needless to say we were not impressed by them or their product. It has be returned for refund. Comment | Was this review helpf -
Wow I had a network blowout and it blew out half my network cards, a router, a kvm, and a 8 port ethe3rnet switch. Ok heres my advice, get all the power supplies in your computers checked out, make sure they are earthed properly (I forget what americans call earthing the electricity (is it grounding it??)) next make sure that any equipment with a metal case has an earthing strap between it and a radiator pipe or some other earthing point. Most of all make sure you have good power supplies in your computers My network blew out due to a fauly PS in a computer and was compounded by not having correct earthing on all other items
all hardware is plugged into power surge protectors. I thinki's the products them selves. I need to go with better brands. The keyboard is known to either work or not work.I've been reading other reviews on theat board and it a common problem of it going out for no reason. If you want a lighted keyboard I would look at other brands not Saitek. Even thought they make good stuff-this board has problems.
I have a wireless mouse that stays on for a week. The trick to getting anything wireless is how you charge and use it the first time. You have to charge it for a full, uninterrupted, 8 or 12 hours. Then use it until it completely dies. Then charge it and use it how you want for years and the battery should be fine. earthing == grounding radiator == heatsink >= btw, I have been through 2 DVD burners and 2 CD burners. The best I have ever owned is a Sony. I now have a Sony DVD burner and it has never given me a problem.
Thanks Adderall-Yea-With the mouse I was running out of juice about every 3 or 4 days and having to re-charge. I went back to the corded. I would like to find another lighted keyboard that will hold up longer then a year. The Sony DVD Burner is my next buy. That burner looks good. The model I saw is fast and stands on it's side in a stand taking less space. Nice. You can't go wrong with Sony gear.-It would be nice if one of the torrent sites made it impossible for a person to download after so many times without having to seed and post a review of the file.-Cut down on junk files.
hey np There is torrent sites like that. oikme.uk and others. You have to seed until a certain percent and the server tracks your seed ratio for each torrent from them. If you dont seed enough then you get probation and/or banned. I like it. You give and get.
radiator == heatsink der no doc, this is radiator == the metal thing that is connected to the water in youir house and heated water heats up the metal thing called a "radiator" and keeps people warm in winter. It radiates heat rather than conducts heat its what your electricity is earthed to in your house essentially unless you have separate earthing points wireles is a no no anyway it just needs a few more years to perfect it. People rush out and buy wireless this andd wireless that, get a signal meter one that can tell you about conflicting signals and see just how much stuff emits noise and conflicting signals -
people need to learn about their wireless stuff. I looked at most wireless channels around me and they are usually 1 or 11. I changed my wireless channel to something no-one else has and I never have a problem. Of coarse I have other things implemented. A radiator can be many things. My car has a radiator.
That site sounds good-Thats probably the only way the torrents will stay afloat is if people are forced to seed -The reviews for me are real important. Since Torrentspy left town I'm getting about 2 out of 5 good files. Some are just too dark or too grainy etc.- Adderall-Question-When I get done converting and burning' I pop it into the dvd player and watch the file on a big screen- If the screen is too small I can change it to full screen-I gave a few movies to a friend last week and her screen won't change-the tv won't do it.How to get it to go from wide screen to full screen?- On the torrents I don't see anything telling the screen size-Is there anyway to know if the video is full or wide?-I see it on the dvd boxes sometimes but how can you tell from a download?
