Is a 400W HPS enough?

Is it enough for 5-8 plants (with reflector of course) Or do i need to upgrade to a 600W HPS? Thanks for the assistance.

 

I`ve grown 5 with no problems but have reduced it to 3 now to stagger the flowering periods thus have weed from this harvest for longer. but all five grew like crazy..........

 

they say 400w is good upto 1 square meter 3 foot by 3foot,anything above youll need a bigger light,but you can do like 9 plants in that so should be fine for you

 

400w will do just fine for that number of plants........by the way, in a 3 foot by 3 foot foot-print, you can fit 18 1gal grow bags and do a sweet SOG. Tis' alot of work tho....

 

I usually flower out 8 plants under my 400, but this run I'm veggin them more and putting them in bigger bags. Only doing 5 this time. If you have the proper ventilation and space, though, get the 600. Nothing wrong with more watts....
