I have been smoking for 2 years occasionally. This summer I started smoking 2 times a week or more. This sunday I ate a firecracker and got very high and all was good. The last few days I have had anxiety and panic attacks throughout the day. I'm very confused because they appear to happen for no reason. I have had the occasional panic attack and paranoia when smoking but this only happened when I got very stoned and it didn't happen often. I would like to know if anyone has had the same symptoms as me and what they did to prevent them and if they subsided after a while.

    Thank You,

I do sometimes, you just learn to deal with it. Even things like xanax are just band aids.

You have to teach your self how to deal with them.

although if you are having an attack in a realy bad setting it's nice to have some xanax.

Same for me, if I start feeling like everyones out to get me or that strong feeling of discomfort I smoke a cig, but that doesn't always cure it.

Yeah nicotine does really help me but I don't reccommend that to anyone.

I've had anxiety problems all my life (literally since I was in pre-k) and I've never had a prescription for any anti-anxiety, but I've tried xanax and it helps a lot. The thing about medicines for that, though, is that your goal is to let them help you through the illness/ailment/whatever you want to call it, instead of having to take it every day for the rest of your life. Basically, if you end up taking anti-anxiety meds, pay attention to how your mind is acting differently while you're on them, and then try to apply those same thought processes to when you're not taking medications.

Another thing that helps is if you feel an anxiety attack coming on, take some deep breaths and concentrate on your breathing. It actually helps prevent them from starting most of the time.

Do yourself a favor and don't do drugs when you're in times of high stress.

    Then comes your clock.
