You know how most people will see your dreads and ask if you wax them... well today my Astronomy teacher and I were talking and she asked if I 'salted my dreads' and i think that comment made my day today! though I wonder where she knows about dreads from... then i told her ocasionally and that i wish i could go to the ocean and then her and i agreed that buying sea salt would be alot cheaper than going to the ocean :)

What Awesome comments/questions have you gotten?

    From a 4-year old.

    "you look like Cinderella"
    "does Cinderella have dreadlocks?"
    "yes"

An awesome comment i got was when my aunt i think it was heard about me getting dreads and she told me she was like wow what a bad idea, but then she saw me and said that i actually pull them off very well and that i look really good with dreads.

This question is kind of weird but in a way awesome i guess i dont know. but i was talking with someone earlier and they said that they heard from someone that you use an egg to make dreads, im not sure how or why but iii dont know

Heh, my grandparents are from Yalgoo, Central Australia, circa 1920's...
'You look like a fuckin' Jin, cut your hair boy'
'What are you? Some kind of COON?'
    'Dirty...Take a shower'

My grandmother is better, because she's sweet, she'll be that old woman that blossoms when the old man cark's it,
'Are you sure we can't just comb off a part of it? I need some decent hair for the family books..'

She collects strands people in our families hair, and sticks them in photo albums :p

I keep getting the "what have you done to your dreads/dont you wax them?" thing like almost daily here if I meet new people. I'm starting to get brainwashed here by all those wax-friendly dreadheads...in fact I think i'm about the only one here who's not waxing out of a few thousand dreadheads.

I was called "mowgli" once by a friend, I just laughed and after that i googled mowgli for a reminder and i found a pretty big resemblance between his and my haircut...because of the small ponytailish thing he has on top of his head...i have it too.

i was also asked if i have bananas/kiwis/apples growing under my locks by some drunk skinhead.

and loads of other stuff, i get a lot of shit here...literally stupid people.

i dont think ive ever gotten an awesome comment.
what i get is "do you still have dreads?" or "so you combed out your dreads" or with my first set, this insanly gorgeous guy who i was kinda starting to see was like "oh you dreaded your hair. those are really fat and theyre gonna take a long time to dry" no those look really good karla, or you look really good with dreads [IMG] and he was recent dreadhead himself.
i think the best thing was a random cousellor at the camp i work at coming up to me and asking me for advice on dreading her hair. when i do get an awesome comment ill post it though, even if this thread is 5 pages back [IMG]
