lately ive been helping a friend make some Courion countertops. while on lunch we were discussing if a bowl could be made from this material. after a couple hours here's what i came up with. it is just rough sanded. tomorrow im going to finish it up and polish it. i tried it out tonight and it worked great. im planning to make a couple more in different colors if anyone is interested. let me know what you think. check out the finished pics farther down the page!
mehh its cool. i just dont care for any PIPES except for glass. but it is very cool for being hand made.
its hits great. alot smoother than i thought it would be. as for design im planning to try making one on a lathe. that way i can make some unique designs. ill post up my progress.
well i spent some time tonight and finished it up. im happy with it for being my first try. i picked up several different colors of material today and hoping to make a few more of these. anyways heres the pics, and also one showing what i started with. thanks for all the compliments!!
Oh man, I would not smoke out of that! I do counter tops for a living, and Corian and Staron have some nasty chemicals in them. But out of curiosity, is that color Corian Dusk or Staron White Sanded Pepper?
its staron sanded grey. the pics don't show the color very well unfortunately. btw, would smoking out of it really be any worse than breathing it all day?? i never wear any protection and at the end of the day my nose and throat are full of dust. just a thought...
shamanic steve- you should definitely try making something. i've been making them since i was very young, all started back when i made corn cob pipes and smoked alfalfa, lol.
