I'm new. I wasn't a hippy back in the day. Neither am I now, but i am a person who believes in standing up for what I believe in. I guess you could say i'm an old activist of sorts. I was a non-traditional college student a few years back and was amazed at how kids in college were afraid to stand up to 'the man' I worked on the campus newspaper and wrote some scaving(sp) articles about campus life and what people should do about it. I did everything I could to get them stirred up but it was like the stepford wives in college I graduated from H/S in 1967 and joined the navy in 1969 thinking I would defend my country. Bah! Against who? Charlie? Charlie didn't care about the American people except for the one he had in his sights in SE Asia. Luckily, I wasn't called on to serve in vietnam. I have several friends who's lives are fucked up over that war. War suxs! And we have a president who spent his vietnam years in the air national guard. Prick! Oops, got carried away there a bit. Anyway, i'm married now for 26 years and I have a 23 yo daughter in college. I 'experimented' with drugs (acid, mesc, pot, speed etc) in the 70s. Since I was making a career out of the military, I didn't get much into it though. I'm just here to hang out. Hope to meet many of you (online) in my journeys.
