    Stop that...

I'm hungry and have at least a 50 minute wait if I'm going to make my rice and beans. Kindly post photos that might serve as appetite suppressants until after I've eaten please because that looked far too good.

If you do rice and beans,

you should put some tomato and basil pasta sauce (or whatever your favorite pasta sauce is) on the rice and put some Chipotle bbq sauce (or whatever bbq sauce you prefer) on the beans while they are heating up.

A common meal for me is black beans and brown rice and I love to experiment with various pasta sauces/bbq.

    Your dish looks awesome.

I haven't had dinner but I just had a handful of shelled sunflower seeds. I'll probably make some penne pasta with tomatoes, basil and zucchini fresh from the garden. Yes, that would be perfect. I better go pick them before it gets dark. :)

That does sound good... too bad I have neither pasta sauce nor bbq sauce to add. What I do have is some Chinese long grain rice and black rice as well as three different kinds of beans... and ground turkey (which is frozen). The food prep will likely wait till tomorrow. Tonight I'm going to polish off turkey breast sandwich meat and a couple pieces of fruit.

Gonna make a big pot of rice and beans to be eaten next week though... I'm either going to buy bbq sauce or make homemade to add. I need an excuse to break in my garlic press so the first pasta sauce of the year may materialize very soon.

I need to get mine pulled. We'll be pulling in two paychecks soon, so it's only a matter of time until I can afford a trip to the dentist! *dances*

I'm a chef and with access to many fresh ingredients, I can vary my meals in so many ways- but I am always so busy I never stop to eat a normal meal and, as I work at least 12 hour days 6-7 days a week, I have usually relied on a diet of things I can just readily grab and throw in my mouth, such as bacon, cheese, pickles and chips- although I get on a raw oyster binge some weeks, add some saltines, wasabi and I'm in heaven. Tonight i ate a a crabcake I made mistakenly- couldn't read the owner's guest check- I'm in a kind of soup mode lately, but with a little rice thrown in the bottom of the bowl. If I wanna go all out and give myself 5 minutes, it's a med rare burger, andouille sausage sandwich or a couple thick lamb chops. Eggs, yeah, but with grits- if I'm gonna dirty dishes and it's for me only, it's gotta be substantial. Lastly, ice cream makes the world go round some weeks and watermelon never lets me down- i still may eat tonight cause I just got home and there's some killer fried chicken left over from the ride home last night

dude, my garlic press is one of the most valuable utensils in my kitchen. i LOVE garlic and put it in almost all food that is not intended to taste sweet. jarred garlic is better than powdered, but it still lacks the strength of fresh garlic, and you can get more for your money if you buy fresh garlic instead, anyways. but chopping garlic by hand...you stink for a long time.

the press makes it easier, quicker, and cleaner, and you dont get really strong garlic smell on yourself.

just a short bit ago i put two cloves of garlic in some olive oil on the pan and got it nice and hot. tossed in about two handfuls of fresh, cleaned greenbeans (rinsed and trimmed by hand) along with some salt, pepper, chili powder, ginger, and beer. i let it cook till it was just perfect with a slight firmness and fresh green taste remaining but still nice and done. added a bit more chili powder, salt and pepper at the end before serving. it was very, very tasty.

well i didn't take any pictures of it and it's all gone now, but i did make a mushroom and burger stroganoff (that plastic 'imo' sour cream stuff was in the house) served over a bed of noodles.

couple of days ago i made caccitori chicken. wifie took some over to mom who ate 2.5 pieces of it in one setting. they both like the way i cook.

wifie and i did have some nanners and chocklet ice cream with yogurt on top fur deezurt.

    =^^=
