. . . . . . . . . Ok not really, but I just got a letter from financial aid saying I am not elidgeable. What the fuck!? Now I dont know if I can go... I've been looking forward to this and I have no one to co-sign a private loan for me such as astrive and I cant get a bank loan. Now what!? My life sucks...
Wow That Does Suck. Hmm...No One To Co-sign. Get Yourm Parents To Co-Sign. Or A Friend Or Whoever. If Not Then I'd Say Your Fresh Outta Options. But I'm Sure You'll Find A Way And Everything Will Be Fine.
I dont really think the army is for me. Though I commend everybody who has joined. I dont know...plus with all my medical bullshit I dont think I would even be accepted in.
go abroad. it's cheap. I do the exact opposite, I go to America for my education. but then again, I didn't move there for that in the first place.. but now.. I might as well finish or it would be a pretty big waste of money.
Try hitting up FastWeb or other websites for scholarships. If you do decide to work a 40-hour dead-end job for a while and go back to school, you should have plenty of time to complete the applications...and hopefully you've made good rapport with some of your professors (to recommend you). Though it helps to have good grades, if you don't, you could probably find something just for you if you google around enough. Also, find out why you're ineligible and see if you can do something about it. If it's academic performance, well, you'll have to see if there's some sort of rehabilitation scholarship you can get to take classes to bump up the GPA. If it's drugs, well, I'm not sure what you can do about that...rehab and time maybe?
fine out why you are ineligible then try to become eligible......... i sure hope something will work out for you cause you need college if you want to land a good job with good pay
I went back to college at age 34, I was married with a young son and had been on my own since I was 20. My parents were "comfortable" and the schools/govt/etc kept denying me loans or grants because of that. Then I lucked onto a local organization that told me to apply as an "emancipated adult", by doing so my parents' finances. I then got enough loans and Pell grants to go with what I'd saved to finish school. Hope that helps. You may have to dig around for some obscure organization that helps people like you and me. Keep digging, they're out there.
DON'T GET A LOAN THAT YOU NEED A CO-SIGNER FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just did that and now my entire family is against me because it has 16% interest. Meaning I'm going to pay $9,000 for a $2,700 loan!! Go to fastweb.com and look for scholarships. Most of them require essays, but they have a lot of awesome grants and stuff
^ shes right that shit is way expensive.. a few years ago when i went to community college i just saved up the 2000 to go. Of course i was working in the oilfield and making that much in 2 weeks. But I had to quit that, it wasnt somthing i liked at all.. gotta have an education. My advice is to save up the money then go. community college doesnt cost an assload like other colleges. It will be worth the savings instead of getting a loan!
I still have yet to go to school for the exact same reason. I think it's pretty fucking pathetic that there are kids who get extra SPENDING money from financial aid (three of my friends do) and then there are people like us who really want to go to school, but instead of cutting it off where everyone just gets what they need to be able to go to school and other kids get a chance at those grants as well, they just throw money at kids because they're "poor." It pisses me off. I live on a less than $12,000 yearly earning and support not only myself, but one other person, and the government still couldn't give a fuck whether or not I have enough money to go to school because my dad makes too much money. I'm getting less and less fond of the idea of college now.
Same situation here sorta, in the process of saving my money to get into a community college, then transfer back to a state college (was at the University of Alaska)
