    so i want dreads....uber bad.
i mean it would get me closer to
    my true self and culture.
the parents dont agree and said i would
make a fool outta myself since im only
a freshman....they think i need to get myself
    known at school before dreads.

and i live in a small town in montana.
    and no one has dreads.

    i want themmmmmmm!
im gonna grow my hair....till after first semester and
then im done with swimming class....then ill backcomb.
    wat to do till then?
    im anxious.
    and trippin.
    haha

just get them. this might be an exaggeration, but parents never agree on dreads. and it doesnt matter what grade your in. their still not ganna want you to get them. and who cares if your "known". people will approve and dissapprove wether they know you or not. just do whats right for you. if your afraid people wont want to know you because of your hair, you dont want to know them anyway...sorry for the rant.

A boy in my school has dreads (me? jealous? never...) and he's been allowed to keep them, even though it's technically against the rules! Go for it!

I'd say do it....... but is having a shitty relationship with your parents worth having dreads?? That's what you have to consider, I think. You can always get your dreadies out... but you can never change your parents! They'll always be around....

But do what your heart feels! Good luckies!

Get them if you truly want them. In my case my parents don't support my dreads at all, but it's not at all about what they want is it? You are your own person, your hair is your hair, a part of your body and no others, so do what you want with it.

Screw your rents, do it! You're your own person. Especially if it's to get in touch with and for yourself - never let anyone stop you from doing that.

    & I agree with HippieAdrien's rant :p
I'm actually really bummed out I only had mine for the second semester of senior year in highschool. I was the only one with dreads too, I thought it was great.
"hey there's that chick with dreads dude" lol
