I don't know about all of you, but I find it absolutely tragic that our society has become so mechanistic and alienating that I have to use online message boards as a social outlet.

    I feel you, man.

This site is my life. And my life has been very sad lately because most of my friends have real lives and don't hang out in the forums on weekends.

Its nice to have this web. I dont often wrote, but I often lurk and read around haha. I have been feeling a little lonely, a little like my town is too grey this week. So I come here and plan for festies in the summer and dream of cool peeps haha

alienation came long before the internet became an outlet. i know very well. i only found the internet 5 years ago. now i've actually learned how to talk to people. the internet has helped me quite a bit.

Aliens still need a green card- except that it's not really green.

I kinda like the internet for the fact that my internet friendships are probably my only solid lasting ones. I move alot, and have lost touch with lots of "real-life" friends.

Other than that... having real friends is great, I'm a fan.

Yeah. I'm definitely grateful for the internet, as well as all the thoughtful, intellegent people I can communicate with through it. I was just bitching about being alienated.

Alienation has always sucked. the internet seems to provide an outlet for some. This is a good thing. I'm not a high-use kinda person. In fact this is the first and only forum thingy I've ever used. It fills the evening's dead hours for me and is really fun. A lot of you guys make me laugh on a regular basis, Thanks.

    I hear you buddy.

the only friend i have from my youth is my friend that moved to colorado with me. all the rest are gone. most of my friends tend to be of the passing sort.

Yeah, I can count mine on one hand. But I'm happy for even the transitory periods of friendship I've had with people from wherever. Anybody who has ever shared a drink, shared a bed, shared a secret, shared a 30 hour bus ride, shared a cigarette, a spliff with me...I love you all.

This is true. There are passing moments people and longer lingering people.

you don't have to be with someone every day of your life or for proteacted periods to love them and be changed by them.

There's a lot of love in the air tonight. I'm on top of the world. Another year, cheers to some more tears, plenty of beers, subconscious fears but most of all, friends who are dear.

In 20 years nobody will think that way. Internet will be part of our mental system.
