Has anyone here heard of him? He's a Dominican musician; I'm quite fond of his music. He plays merengue...
Guerra made some incredibly inspired CDs like Areito and Bachata Rosa, and for me brought merengue and bachata to a wider audience. His work with 440 has always been full of vitality. But his latest, Para Ti, is a reflection of his apparent conversion to fundamentalist religion, and the songs will be hard to swallow for many...... If you want to hear his genius at its best, listen to "Senales De Humo" from AREITO.
FINALLY! Someone who knows of the guy! Hah, I don't think much of his new album either. Rather disappointing. My favourite is Ni Es Lo Mismo Ni Es Igual.
Yes, that one is really fine. "Coronita De Flores" is another brilliant song. If you want merengue really steamed up, FOGARATE is pretty good for that. Several years back, Guerra took some heat from the Cuban audience at the Latin Grammys for what was implied in one of his videos. In fact, one person shouted, "Nosotros Cubanos Te Repudiamos".....pretty strong words. He got pretty quiet after that.....which is too bad, because he is one fantastic songwriter and singer.
Oh! Some people that know what good Latin music is! Love him!!! One of my favorite Latin musicians... Merengue, Bachata, and much more. The way I see it, he has no better album then Bachata Rosa
I love to dance Bachata and salsa!!! And I love Guerra as well, he is great! Someone of here is good at salsa dancing??? Kanana
Well, it depends on how you define "good"... I've been dancing for like 20 months now, mostly casino style... good enough for you?
Not only good... it's brilliant. I only danced during half a year, then I broke my heel and now I can dance, but more quiet than before!!!
