Okay I have a dead imac here and need to lift images off the hard drive and transfer to cd or something. Anyone know an easy way to get mac OS and Microsoft OS to accept each other or do I need to purchase a machine to email the pics from the old hard drive ect ect ect?

Woah...that's a serious problem. It'll be difficult to get the Mac and the PC to talk to one another, but what exactly is "dead" on your machine? Not the HD?

Find someone with a Mac, and swap drives for a bit?

How do you define a "dead" Mac?

It might be cheaper to fix it and keep your pics, rather than buying a new comp.

Okay here is the issue. The customer is the father of the owner of the computer. The owner of the computer is his daughter who is currently in China. She sent him only the main unit but no power cord, no keyboard, no mouse. I was told it would not even light up. Its an all in one like system 17" LCD G4 1.5mhz 512mb 80gig ect. Nice looking system. After opeing it up and not being able to even attempt to power it up since it takes an odd power cord I would guess it shut down due to all the clogged air intake holes for the cooling system and overheated something. Could be a simple power supply issue or processor or ???? Anywho thats whats up currently. She just really wants her pictures off of the HD and I guess I may have to buy a mac just to do so and keep it around for later use unless I find another mac user who knows how to slave the drive and rip the images to disk.
