Hi everyone. I am feeling pretty down because my amp doesn't seem to work anymore. I have a Roland VGA-5 (http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=243), and it has served me wonderfully for the past 3 years or so. I bought it used originally but I've taken it across the country twice and have never had any problem. It is built like a tank and has a lot of great sounds. I've been using it pretty consistently over the past month - last time I used it was about a week ago. Today I pulled it out and plugged it in, but when I pressed the power button nothing happened. I heard a faint "boom" kinda sound (don't know how to describe it) - you know, the sound an electric amp makes when you first turn it on - but beyond that, no lights, no input, no nothing. When I turned it off and on after that there wasn't even that sound. However, if I wait about 15 seconds or plug it into a different jack in the house, I get that same faint "boom" sound but still no lights or anything. Does anyone have the slightest clue what's going on here? I have not been treating this amp badly - I've been very careful with it, I always treat it well and lately it's been my doorstop for one door in my room (I have two, and rarely use the door where it is anyways). It's gone through little abuse in the time I've had it, aside from lugging it up stairs or something... can anyone redirect me around or give me a hint? I'm stumped and pretty down... Hope you guys and girls are all doing great. Keep rocking.
