definatly. i really don't even need to explain. just watch some t.v. commercials. you'll see what i meen
It depends on who the person is: A typical person, probably 90-99% a loner in the middle of the woods without cable and internet, is typically a lot more free thinking.
yes. having not watched tv in about a year i realised how much influence just Television itself has. that not even counting magazines, newspapers, the internet, or just everyday advertising. its really scary.
Yes, I do. But I will say that for most of my life I knew it was all manipulation, and being from the "hippie" generation, we didn't buy into a lot of mainstream advertising. I mean, we just didn't want to buy what was being advertised (booze, yah - sure, but we'd have bought that anyway) - it didn't fit our tastes or lifestyle. Now, if the media had been pushing indian print bedspreads and pachouli oil, might be a different song I sing. I purchased the movie "They Live" from eBay and finally watched it. Now, when I see billboards all I can do is see the signs in that film that the guy saw once he put on the glasses. On the way to work Friday a huge truck with HUGE lettering on the side that said ZIMA! - all I could see was "CONSUME!" And "No Smoking" signs now say "OBEY".
Almost??? Mass media for control of the masses. I do not watch TV anymore for over 20 years. I can see the Phnargs!
My friend's dad has the movie They Live, and after seeing you guys talk about it I borrowed it. I just finished it. It was great!
Yeah. The media and politicians have a way of diverting people's attention to meaningless issues. They also do a good psychology job of getting people to defend them and to believe that any kind of dissent against politicians is unpatriotic and unethical. Basically, they try to get the public to impose a monopoly upon itself. We could have reality TV shows of people at various demonstrations each week debating meaningful issues. Instead, we're bombarded with shows where a bunch of dunderheads are supposedly stuck on an island, and people get all worked up over who to vote off the island. .
unless you have neighbors who force their noise on you, only as much as you subject yourself to it. the problem is that there seems to be a slight majority who do. =^^= .../\...
"They also do a good psychology job of getting people to defend them and to believe that any kind of dissent against politicians is unpatriotic and unethical." Eminem actually says this in his song "Mosh". Fuck the media. I get my information from novels, not Fox News.
yes the media is very corrupt, the american news networks are great at scaring people into consuming more and more goods or following orders blindly. but there is another option, take the media into your hands, grab a camera and get out there! ever checked out current tv? www.current.com. your own web sites anything theres no need to sit back and watch them melt peoples minds
It's terrible what the media does. Alot of those weak minded people wandering the earth are very vurnable to the brainwashing machine of corruption. The average person is very dependent, wether it is a leader, a dictator, or in this case the media. Those capitalistic pigs running their filty bussiness know this, they make use of it. We can't blame those whos minds have been fallen into oblivion, and their empty shells being used as ammo for their killing machines of consumption(ergh, that sounds weird-.). This world is sickened, sickened by corruption, sickened by metal shaped objects of no value.
Reality shows make me shake my head. We might as well all be the Roman population in the coliseum (sp? - still waking up here) watching the lions go after the christians. The voyeuristic factor is so base, IMHO.
