    hi man,
im not too sure at the moment cos i dont have it, though i have had it in the past. well, down the bottom you should have a thing called "chopper". this is used to open songs with, there should be a tab where you click on and it will ask you to browse for a song that you want to edit ect. well, once you open a song you can play it, to find want parts of the song you may want. then take note of the point where the sound was, drag your mouse across while holding left click (it should go purple or sumthin), once the area you want to use is copied, press the button "insert" and it will go onto your main working area. to speed up the tempo of the song you car click on the thing that goes down the left hand side (it will have the song\noise's name) and click properties. the options should be in there to do random stuff. and you can record your own sounds by using a microphone and clicking on a "record" option around there somwhere.

im sorry i cant help much, but this is just off memory, i hope it will get you started.

    good luck:)

What do you mean, like midi sync? It would probably be best bet to go back to fl. Acid pro is very unprofessional, imho. Fl used to get alot of shit, but it has gotten alot better. If you're trying to get away from patterns, and move more towards manual slicing, go get Sonar 2(xl). It's alot more elaborate, in terms of what you can do to production. I don't really know acidpro that well, so I can't suggest much. Rtfm

You can download tons of one shot drum hits from all over the place... I'd highly recommend any of the LinnDrum samples, they're top quality... but I'd seriously consider just manipulating loops, it's much much easier to get an organic sound with "real" drumloops.

And I agree with backtothelab, drop acid and stick with fruity; the only thing I can think of that acid is truly good for is timestretching vocal samples, fruity will crush it in every other category.

and this is a drum and bass production site, but if you're wanting to learn anything regarding electronic music production, this place is heaven! I highly highly highly recommend the stickied "thread's of interest" ....
    enjoy.... :)

^^yeah, what he said. Check out em411.com They've got forums and all that whatnot, much more experienced people than the ten or so people on these boards. Most people there make experimental stuff, so if your a normie, don't bother.

ps: that forum you posted was fucking awesome. The first thread i went into this guy posted up this crazy japanese man busting some shit out on a keyboard. Kudos.
