What do you think artwork or one STUPID student from MIT? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070921/ap_on_re_us/fake_bomb Im going with ummm STUPID:withstupi
i don't see the point of that EXCEPT to frighten people. and he got busted. well, there you have it. i think it's stupid.
Ten years ago nobody would have thought anything of it. Now you're a suspected terrorist if you look at somebody the wrong way.
I think it's kind of cool actually. I love circuit boards and wires and machinery type things. But, thats the only reason I think it's a cool artwork
I saw that on the news, the state police who walk around logan field carry around assault weapons, and if she so much as twitched they would have cut her in half :nopity: Hotwater
well, I do think that it was stupid that she brought it to an airport, considering how anal they are about that sort of thing there, but if it's art, then it's art. A lot of that I think was blown out of proportion.
Yeah, those militarized police with their M16's and black helmets should reeeaally make us all feel safe. It's all about freedom, ay.
i have never seen any police with M16s at Logan. i've been there 4 times this past summer. not once. and shit, security is a joke....took less than 2 minutes....was much worse when i flew before 9/11 IMO (my view is limited to Logan)
art is shown everywhere. art is the statues at the boston public library....the arrangement of the flowers at the Public Garden....the billboards we see and drive past everyday....on t-shirts and jeans....art is everywhere, its lame to say its only shown in art galleries even Logan has plenty of art in it
Art doesnt always has to do with the work itself but sometimes is all about the expected reaction. She knew that was going to happen, I think that was her intention. I think it's fun, but hey Im weird.
i dont' think she knew that was going to happen....she went inside, asked a simple question, then left.... i see no damn problem. its not like she tried to run past the security - people are too pussified these days
Im not saying that art is everything, though is highly subjective... but think of the person that made this tshirt, why do you think he designed it and what is he trying to say with it? I dont know if it was this girl or who, but I think whoever created it, with what happened in the airport, got what he/she wanted. That was exactly its purpose and it did it. I think tshirts are a form of street art, you know... like graffiti
But I think that's the whole thing. Act like a normal person wearing a tshirt and see how people are affected by what's on it. How could she have not know what was going to happen? I mean if I had worn that tshirt I would have done it entirely for the purpose of that happening, it's the beauty and funny side (I think it's funny) of the whole story.
I think the chick was kinda dumb to try that in an airport...everyone knows airports are going apeshit with the security thing nowdays. This was hilarious: Boston was the focus of a security scare Jan. 31 when dozens of battery-powered devices that featured a character making an obscene gesture with a finger were discovered in various locations. Bomb squads were deployed and some transportation links were closed temporarily. They turned out to be a promotion for the Cartoon Network. Two men were charged in that incident, but prosecutors dropped the charges after they apologized and performed community service. I laughed my ass off when I saw this story on the news. I love Aqua Teen-the fact that people thought they were explosives was stupid.
You must have gone when the alert level was low, because when the alert level is high, they have enough firepower (to steal a line from a hollywood movie) to Nuke Arnold Schwarznegger H
maybe....maybe not...i don't give credence to that low or high level bullshit....so i dont' pay attention.
