Sent a 17 year old kid today to prison for 10 years for breaking in a house and stealing a laptop and a tv. Thats completley rediculous. I did some crazy stuff in my day, when I was 15 or 16 years old. Broke into houses, cars, and like dealing every theif has their bad days. I got caught up getting pulled over moving some stolen stuff. Got caught with over 5k in audio stuff, and then thousands of dollars in jewerly. They caught me up with 1 count of burglary of building, 1 count on burglary of a habitiation, and destruction of property (long story how we got in) , and some other car burglarys which we had stolen electronics from and got 6 months and 2 years probation. A 17 year old kid gets 10 years for breaking in one house? Goverment is rediculous these days. Even a law with a maximum sentence for each crime does no-good. Traffic officers aren't following the constitution. Pulling illegal searches out of their ass. This and that. I'll vote for the president who says "Will enforce the constitution"
I dont steal here. If you re-read my post it says when I was younger. But still that is sorry they gave that kid 10 years for breaking in one house. People get off with parole after 10 years for murder these days.
It depends who you get tried by. The judge really has your balls in a vice and his mood and judgement of you strongly effects the rest of your life. Of course it's completley unfair, but we are the culprit and have no rights in these situations. My cousin had 5 counts on him, and evaded his court date twice. His counts included unregistered car, driving without a license, driving without plates or hood, and a hit and run. They gave him a fine, simply because their was no room in jail atm. I've seen people get a hit and run and get put away for years...Their is no reason for it...
He'll get off in a less than 2 years of probation. I think that his case will set a good example. Both to people and to law enforcement. It will show people that stealing IS wrong, and show law enforcement that there are real criminals out there.. maybe it will divert their efforts from busting kids for ganj.
Good give him 10 more. POS theives. Alot of home owners have a high deductable ($750 - $1,000) which goes even higher do to some punk ass either too lazy or stupid to get a McJob. I would have gave him 10 -> 180 grn 10mm.
^^ amen. this is what i don't get- as a pot smoker, i have spent years convincing people weed is not a bad drug and that it doesn't lead us to steal, get bad grades in school, violence, etc. then people do shit like this and it puts the pot smoking community (at least the rest of us who are otherwise law abiding citizens) in such a bad place. i had my car broken into a few weeks ago and i can't express how fucking pissed off i was. so yes, anyone who steals shit like that should go to jail. the rest of us pacifist weed smokers will just smoke a bowl, chill the fuck out and respect everyone else's hard earned property. i have no sympathy for anyone who steals.
Lately I notice that a lot of outrageous time for all types of crime. We have more prisons and more in then than any other nation. Free we say but look out if you mess up and are poor, you can end up getting a much heavier prison time........such a load of crap.
what the fuck is wrong with all these stupid people. did you ever put any thought into what you are doing. how would you like it if someone ripped off all your valuables while you were away. you wouldnt. then why do that to someone else? instead of being a part of the solution, you decided to be part of the problem and make the world a shittier place to live for their fellow humans. worthless people like that should be in prison, not people who choose to use or sell certain substances.
FUCK STEALERS they should of put that kid for 15 years. I'd be pissed off if I woke up and found my laptop and tv gone man.
