If you like some acoustic/chilled rock stuff try, josh pyke. just got his album memories & dust. it's really nice stuff. as is jack savoretti. also the flaming lips, calexico, ryan adams, cast, ben harper, porcupine tree, polyphonic spree....just some that have been playing on the itunes in the last hour or so.
Indeed, what DO you like, cause that way it's easier for us to guess what else you may enjoy. Anyway, just random shots in every direction: Burning Spear (roots reggae) Siena Root (retro psychrock) Ska-P (political Spanish ska-punk) The Softies (sad-ish twee pop) Tiger Trap (happy-ish twee pop) Phil Ochs (political folk)
seirge gainsbourge (melody nelson) neutral milk hotel (in the aeroplane over the sea) silver jews (american water) just a few upon many godly albums
Blues! Really old delta stuff is my favorite: Robert Johnson Charley Patton Blind Lemon Jefferson... Are very good. Or like some good 40s blues: Howlin' Wolf Muddy Waters Sonny Boy Williamson Are also great. 50s: Elmore James John Mayall Alexis Korner Some good listens. 60s blues is good: Ten Years After Canned Heat Janis Joplin Of course, phenomenal. 70s blues: Climax Blues Band Stevie Ray Vaughan Early Aerosmith And 80s: Great White is all that comes to mind.
