I only know France and England. I want to branch out and really see Europe. I want to take 3 months and see 5-8 countries. I want to take my time in each place, 1-2 weeks, but more on the 2 weeks side, in each place. Any tips and ways to save money on my route? After the airplane ticket, if I get my train ticket in advance and have a place to stay in two of my countries (very likely) is 1000 euros enough? Here is what I want to do, with one slight varition.
Yes, it's possible with that money. Some countries on the route are pretty expensive, but others aren't at all. I actually had almost the same route to Budapest at first, but we went from Prague via Vienna and skipped Slovakia. However our main goal was Budapest, we took our time on the way there and spend the night in a tent at campingsites. You also have them near and (like Prague) often even in the cities. I thought it saved me some money, haha. Not sure though.
I have connections I can try to work on in Netherlands, Germany..even Italy, Slovakia, Austria and Hungry I have connections through a 2nd party. If one of the major ones work and one of the minor ones (of the last four countries listed) work out, it would make things so much easier already. Couch surfing could work, and maybe I can get a multi country rail pass on STA travel. Than I can eat lightly and maybe do it in under 2000 total.. edit: Any other cheap flexible ways to travel through countries?
Are we looking at the black line that goes through croatia, or the pink line that goes through austria ? Sorry if its a stupid question...
Oh. I wouldnt go to Croatia either, if I wasnt actually living there. It is cheaper than Austria, but I honestly understand that you d rather go to Wien than to Zagreb. Wien is a beautiful town and I am sure you re gonna enjoy it.
that I am sure you ll do, regardless of money.Well, do u atleast have friends/family members in some of the countries u r going to ? i mean, somewhere to stay ? That would save u a lot of money...
yah, places like the Netherlands, germany, Italy France (obviously) I know of people. I can even see if I can get help with slovakia, Hungry, Austria, as I know people who know folks from those countries.
