MOST under-rated metal musicians (real, not slipknot crap)

the most underrated metal band are Nile and POSSESSED.
possessed are gods of death metal and people dont apprieciate them as much as they should and nile are fucking awesome

 

I think that Arch Enemy are seriously under-rated. Angela Gossow is possibly one of the greatest metal singers EVER!!! Her, ahem, 'voice' is totally suited to the style of music they make and she could out-do any male death metal singer anywhere!! I also agree with a statement she made in a magizine ages ago about how when she was at school she didnt just want to be some metal heads pretty girlfriend, she loved the music too much for that. I just think that Arch Enemy are really under-rated as a band in general and i think more people should take notice.

Blind Guardian, Helloween, Nocturnal Rites, Akercocke, Therion, Disgorge, Primal Fear, Angel Dust... that's all I can think of for now.

 

Toxic Narcotic are pretty wicked but their kinda punk metal...
Audioslave are pretty good and I feel theyre under-rated because they had one or two songs hit mainstream and everyone talked about em for about about a week then forgot, but they deserve a lot more credit. They owned.
Hed PE, but their more rapcore... I dunno

Are we speaking of Death Metal, Metal, Heavy Metal, Speed Metal, Garage Metal, Trash Metal, or Punk Metal? Does Rapcore count at all?

Bands like Blind Guardian and Helloween are highly appreciated by a lot of people, and I don't think they're underrated (at least in Europe).

In my opinion 'punk metal' and 'rapcore' doesn't count. But that's just my opinion. We're speaking of metal in this thread and those genres aren't metal.

 

Yaa, Meshuggah are underrated
carcass aren't - they're legends & have a new best of 10 years after the fact
NILE are good but when I saw em the sound was BS (cinci)

I hate that whole 'internet horns' thing. especialy when you put it towards slipknot. In any case, they are INSANELY over-rated and given way too much credit for Anders' creation. Meshuggah are rated just fine. Nile are given proper respect. Carcass are fine too.

I'm not much into modern metal, but I've always liked Acid Bath. No idea whether theyre under or over rated....
