less than 1% of the world's population stood across the world not wanting war and that war solves nothing, that's 10,000,000 (10 million) of 7,000,000,000 (7 billion), which equals .001429%. Some have critisized me of a comment I made stating that no one is doing anything to prevent war. This is the proof. So as far as I am concerned and the statistics found in the early years of 2000 when we were headed to war with Iraq and the protesters who stood, I'm less than 1% away from being 100% correct. So this one of my protests against humankind amongst other things I feel, so please don't judge me before you search your facts. Other than that I guess since no where near enough stand up to prevent war, violence must be so desensitzed to welcome the brutality, the torture, the violence, the wrongness of killing, and the corruption that comes with the territory. So I am against you and your love of violence and killing to turn your back against the fact that it's still wrong. I say turn your back because you've done nothing, if you've done something that percentage would be much much higher.

as long as we keep creating markets for what we claim to object to, those who say we are just whining have a point. but we don't have to keep doing so. not as much as we do anyway. (i don't think we should stop bitching, i think we should stop contributing to the incentives for perpetuating what we legitimately have, and there IS rather a lot of it, to bitch about!)

i didn't get to read the o.p., but, just on the basis of the name given it, well this is my tyrade on the subject in a nut shell for what its worth anyway.

I posted this to bring back my original idea into the shuffle because I reposted my idea of why I protest humankind.

I was there against the beginning of both wars, the one against Afghanstan and the one that makes the least sense against Iraq. Where was everyone else?

People buy into the sales pitch that their security and proserity relies on wars...hence my distrust of the new Security Prosperity Partnership, anyone protesting it, or are you all going to wait until it's a political fait acompli?

Big business will always tell you their interests are yours also...are they really?

Were you really expecting 7 billion out of 7 billion people to show up on that specific day? Are you forgetting that about 2/3 of the world's people live in abject poverty, yet they're supposed to drop everything and run downtown and shout about a country they've never been to going to war against another country they've never been to?

My point is that you can't judge on turnout numbers. Most people in the world probably had greater concerns on that day, and the ones who didn't, and who were in a position to do something about it, and who agreed that the war was wrong, probably totaled a little over 10 million. Sounds about right to me.

Remember: the revolution will not be televised.

I find you to be a hypocrit. 2/3 poverty or not, people know better as you should too.

Protesting hasn't accomplished anything. You should try suicide bombing... I know some great camps in Afghanistan you can attend.

If you want to protest humankind, take the initiative and kill yourself. Maybe the rest of the planet will follow your example.

Your kidding, right? Wake up and smell the roses. The world does not revolve around the U.S. Hell, a lot of the worlds population are more worried about not getting killed in their little local wars, much less coming out to protest the Gulf war. It is not about the number of people who protest, it is about those in charge being influenced by the voices that do protest.

Actually desperation is what leads people to these extremes. It's not funny, and it's nothing to make light of, while you go home take your nightly shower and settle down in your warm bed, protected from life's ills. We need to remember that not everyone lives as we do.

man some of you people are sick. People like you all in this world...man...no wonder why we're so screwed up. All I've heard are excuses. And I'm told to grow up, the fact still stands, you know better. Enough of your excuses. This should have woken you up to what you are doing but I guess most of you don't want to accept responsibility for the leaders you chose and your actions as citizens. Not all countries are like the U.S. no shit. To accuse me of being stupid and not knowing better is pretty fucking weak. It's weak to know your choices and allowing to happen what has been allowed to happen. So I protest your ignorance. You think sitting idly is taking care of the problem? Walking your dog, going out to eat, putting make up on is more important that preventing war or preventing the corruption or the legal right to kill? Yeah, ok whatever. What could be more important than settling things peacefully? Numbers you attack? Well numbers are numbers, you are one, social security, driver's license, whatever it may be which means you are still responsible. 2/3 in poverty, ok that leaves 1/3 who are more actively responsible which means that's still aproximately 2 billion people. Again the problems are assumption, judgmental behavior of what another is saying because of their personal beliefs or raising. Common sense people, come on out of the fog of lies you live in.

Your attitude that no one's voice is valuable is the type of mindset that causes the desperate to resort to such acts.

Yes, we're not doing anything. And if I kill you there will be one less to fuck up our plans.

Yeah, if 100% of the world agreed with you, there'd be nothing to protest. The worlds more complex then that, and many people are more concerned with feeding themselves then protesting on one day which you've relegated to be the judging of the human race.

    Grow up.
