So...Long stroy short. I want to propose to my girlfriend. But I'm having some difficulties. like, what kind of ring should I get. Neither of us is a clear Butch or Femme, we both have mixed qualities, and I know she prefers 'guy rings' and so do I. So, do we both get 'guy rings' or is there another kind of ring to get? Like without 'roles' or whatever.

As far as a wedding goes. Both of us are masculine, or...mostly masculine with feminine qualities. Any ideas as far as like...a non role wedding, (like without a specific groom and bride)?

ANY help or advice about gay weddings (even if its non official) would be apprecitated (including comments that dont have to do with these questiosns specifically)

    Thanks a bunch.

to make the roles non-traditional gender roles in the wedding, you both wear...dresses, or both wear tuxes.
    or even nice suits?

as for the rings, i'd get what you know she wants-the simple band. maybe engrave something on the inside of it?
    good luck!

wear what you want to wear, get the rings that look best and you like best. don't try to fit into gender roles. you're in love and thats what matters.

My gf and I've already spoken of our wedding details in this regard. We've both wanted to get simple bands with engravings on the inside but have each one of our birthstones on the ring.

I'm the futchy gal in the relationship and will be wearing a suit..very femme suit but very butchy too. She'll be wearing a beautiful gown with a bit of funk to it.

    this all sounds nice.
I'm gonna have to agree with the simple band idea.
Good luck and good love! :)

Yeah, I love bands. Actually, I lie. I don't even wear rings, because I find they catch on everything, but an "amen, sistah" to l-foote. You said it beautifully.

Bands are good, rings do cause problems from time to time. I guess you could always go browsing in a few different stores, or if there's any reason you'd go into those types of stores together, try to get her opinion on a few different things. She might even point out something you'd not considered before.

As for non-role weddings, I always liked the idea of just wearing nice suits. Um, the best example I could think of would only work if you've seen Eulogy with Famke Janssen, the suit she wore to the funeral, you know?

    Best of luck!
