This isn't working.

I keep asking my spirit guides if they could show me a sign that they're there, and EVERY time, NOTHING happens. Am I doing something wrong or what?

 

ive also been trying latly and nothing...so i dont have an answer...just the same question

 

Possibilities:

1. You're not ready for a spirit guide, or need to experience other things first to set up conditions for the spirit guide.

2. The signs are very, very subtle, and you're just not tuned in well enough.

3. They might possibly decide not to show themselves...sorry, but this does happen. I never had a spirit guide until I was close to 50 years old, and when I got one, it was totally different from anything I could have imagined.

 

What kinds of things does a person have to go through to be ready for a spirit guide? What are examples of subtile signs? And why do some show themselves and others don't?

I'm sorry I don't have all the answers, but I'll try.

The universal truth is that there is no universal truth for all people. What's right for you is most certainly different from what's right for anybody else. What you have to go through depends on what you came into this life to accomplish, and where you are on that path right now. And the purpose of a spirit guide coming into your life may be totally different from the purpose of a spirit guide in my life. In fact, I hope it is, for your sake.

Examples of subtle signs...hmmm...I had to attune my mind to "hear" my angels talking to me. It's a tiny voice in the back of my mind, though it gets louder sometimes, especially when I'm falling into or out of sleep. Watch for coincidences, odd circumstances in your life. Did you just think of something and then heard a snatch of conversation that repeated the phrase or topic in your mind? Have you been thinking of a person all day that you haven't seen for a while, and suddenly they call you on the phone? Etc...

I couldn't tell you why some people never get any signs from their spirit guides. Well, of course, some people don't care, and don't look for it. Some people don't care, but they get the contact anyway. My spirit guides were knocking on my door most of my life, but I didn't get the message or live enough or something until I was almost 50--and then the floodgates opened. Other than that, only the spirits know, and they don't tell us everything.

 

It is true sometimes you are not ready, but know that one is there. Make sure you are not expecting lightening bolts or anything. Look for sublte ways. Have you ever put something (say keys) somewhere only to not find them? Do you question your sanity then? Spirit Guides are there but sometimes it is our own thought that says"Why won't they answer?" Mostly it is us is the answer. Pay attention and just know your spirit guide is there for you always.

No, it doesn't mean that. I'm supposed to be strong on my own sometimes, yet at the same time that I'm going through hell on the outside, my angel will often be giving me soothing words and warming my stomach on the inside.

It seems like you want to have some contact very badly. I wish I could be more helpful...I will tell you this: For me, these things don't happen when I'm yearning for them, usually--they usually happen when I'm feeling peacefully contented and confident. It's best to be patient.

 

But I've been pretty much waiting for a sign since last year, and I've kept asking since then. I think it's just not gonna happen for me.

 

well you are only 14...not that thats bad...just saying i didnt even get to know myself very well until about 16, you find alot out about yourself running track or playing football in football you find out just how much pain you can really take until you just wanna fall over...but it takes all that inside you to get back up for the next play or in track when your so out of breath and so light head you cant hear yourself think and you cant even take another step wothout falling over...but you do and you run even more....just things that i found out about myself when i was 16 playing high school sports i guess that wouldnt help some people to know that...but just saying maybe it wont show cause it doesnt think you know yourself well enough

 

LOL I'm sorry to laugh, but didn't I mention that I was almost 50 before I got a spirit guide? I know a year seems like a long time to wait, but keep in mind that I waited about 20 years for the psychic experiences I was hoping for. Never say "never."

 

psychodelic17 I'm not a sports type of person, so I don't think I can see myself doing football or track or anything else like that anytime soon. At my school you don't have to be in highschool to do those things anyway. And I know myself just fine already.

zengizmo you seem to know alot, so another question for you, how do your spirit guides talk to you? Do you hear them, see them or feel them? If you hear them, is it in your mind or little whispers in your ears? If you see them, do you see them with your mind's eye or do you see with your physical eyes? And finally, if you feel them, what does it feel like?

 

When I was 14 I had a Witchy Wiccan Woman tell me she saw my spirit guide as being a tall thin white guy with blondish hair. I never saw him though… Although there was something hanging around me I never saw, but felt, and I could tell it was male. This “spirit” turned lights on and off, turned TV channels, made things roll off the table, stuff like that. I was never scared of it… His name was Badgar… great name right? I don’t know if he was suppose to be my spirit guide because he never showed me anything, but he liked to play… I haven’t heard from him in years.

 

Lol it sounds like he was really fun. Why haven't you heard from him in so long though?

I challenged the universe to prove to me that there is more to life after death, and I got what I wanted, hell, it overwhelmed me. I've had more spiritual experiences than most people do in their entire life in less than a month.

It doesn't have to do with a spirit guide, I had a spiritual awakening of myself.

I'm a knowledgeable and very logical person. I believed that when we die, we cease to exist, and their is nothing after life - no hell, heaven, spirit world, nothing. I'm the type of person that needs hard facts or proof to believe something.

Someone did a tarot card reading of me, and that pushed me into my own self-discovery.

I got that proof, I was connected to my spirit, hell I was connected to the Akashic record. It all hit me at once, it changed who I was. I'm a total different person than I was a month ago.

I'm kinda bumming though, I'm still spiritually aware, but it's not like before, for some reason I can't turn on the switch right now.

 

I had to learn to "hear" them. It isn't physical "hearing." I had to tune my mind to perceive the "voice." It's hard to describe what it's like. It's clearly in my mind and not my ears. It's not really like whispering. The volume varies--sometimes barely discernible, but other times it's so clear it's like a physical voice--only it's not audible, it's only in my mind.

They sometimes flash me images--again, this is only in my mind. They sometimes flash me extremely vivid images--of their own faces, or of something they want to make me aware of.

It's the physical sensations that I noticed before I learned to "hear" them, and I still get lots of those. The first physical sensation I ever noticed was when I was very sad one time, I suddenly realized that my stomach felt extremely warm, almost hot, and the warmth felt like comfort and sympathy. This still happens frequently. After a few months, I noticed that the sensations seem to center around chakra points. Frequently I'll get strong tingling at my root chakra, and warmth at my sacral chakra or solar plexus chakra. Sometimes I get warmth at my heart chakra. No sensations that I've ever noticed so far at my throat and "third eye" chakra, but rarely I'll get tingling at my crown chakra. The timing of these sensations is definitely linked to my thoughts and feelings. Very very frequently I'll be thinking lovingly of someone and will feel warmth in my stomach. One woman I was writing to online told me she started getting warm stomach sensations while thinking about me, and she thought I was doing that. Well, we were strongly connected for a while, that's all it was.
