some people add salt because it wont dissolve in the isopropyl alcohol, and it acts as something of an abrasive. like a scrubby pad for dishes. its handy to do this in bongs because you can't just reach in there with some instrument and scrape the resin out from the inside...you can just swirl the alcohol with salt until its clean. i've just only ever used plain alcohol and let it sit in the piece overnight at room temperature and then swirt a while and dump it in the toilet. they also sell preparations you mix with alcohol or something that apparently work really really well, but i haven't felt the need to mess with them
not even close to true. i just retain what i read well, if its something that interests me. i know little to nothing of particular use, and much of what i "know" is in some way not quite right. i dont take myself seriously - so dont take me too seriously! but thanks
i have no idea if it works or not, thats just the reasoning i've seen given for it. i tried it with my blue spoon in a container and it didnt seem to help with a bong though you can just pour it in an swirl it around. it may be pretty effective - i dont know
sick ass zong man. i wanna get a zong next. as of right now i only have my 18 inch bong and some pipes. >_<. u should get a glass on glass setup
The salt isn't necessary unless your piece is thick with resin. Be ready to spend some time when using this method. Sometimes it takes awhile, but it definately works. I clean all my pieces with isopropyl, salt, q-tips, and a paper-clip. As for the products made to clean pieces, i've heard nothing but good things about Formula 420.
damn i had the smaller version of that zongs are nice but now i have a 2 foot hand-blown glass bong that hits harder than my 4 foot acryllic
Oh, such a beautiful bong that is! ^__^ Wish I had something like that.. Ah well. Glad it works great for you! What did you name it? ^_^
