Yeah, I drink it. It's good for the price you pay. I really only drink it when it's really hot out, though. It doesn't taste as good during the cooler months.
It's hard to compare it with most of the standard, mass-produced lagers. It is an amber beer, with a more malty, bready taste than most lagers. It's also a bit sweeter, but not a lot. It certainly has a lot more flavor than most lagers. I would compare it to Sam Adams in quality, but it really tastes nothing like it. I can't think of any big-name beer to compare it to. It's very decent, though, and cheap. It's a great hot weather beer, but it doesn't taste bad in the colder months either. It's basically a very good all-around beer and is very affordable at only about $4.99 a six-pack.
yeah...what he said. and while maltier than many run-of-the-mill low price lagers, it's also a good bit hoppier though not extraordinarily so by any means. in all regards more flavorful than most any other beer for the price, in my opinion. but there might be something better for that price out there.
i drink lots of microbrews, if that helps in comparing it, but didn't mention them cause no one has heard of some/lots of them most likely. is it similar to any of the gearys or shipyard ales?
The beer that it's most comparable to (that is, out of the ones I've had) is JW Dundee's amber lager, which is made here in Rochester but distributed all along the east cost. You might have seen it before. They also make Honey Brown.
ahhh JW Dundee, good beer, and Honey brown is a nice beer when low on $$. I would like Yuengling than..if I can find it.
Yuengling also makes a black & tan I like, and their porter is good. Hard to beat them for the price.
yeah, i think if i'm in pa anytime in the near future i'll stock up on my way home. but i dont expect to be there anytime soon...oh well. if i lived a bit farther east it would be worth it to make the drive and buy a bit.....but....it would take a couple hours from here in columbus. totally not worth it....i'll drink the strohs
unfortunately i can put that shit away like anything....i had about 8 cans of strohs last night, and about 2-3 killians....im finding it hard to remember specifically how it worked out.
It's one of the only types of beer I will drink... and I'm not a fan of beer. That and Molson are the only brands I can stand.
Yuengling is great on a budget. I love living in the east so you can find it at any supermarket. I would almost compare it to a Sierra Nevada Pale ale but not quite as hoppy.
it's a great beer. they say it's from america's oldest brewery, but it's just started showing up where i live. It sord of reminds me of Fosters, but not as heavy.
