i've been growing habanero peppers for a while now and there is one plant that is irritating me a lot. it needs water constantly and is always shriveling up, however, it's my best plant

is there someway i can prevent this from happenening? it seems every 5 hours it needs water, while the other plants can go up to a day and show no sign of thirst.

WoW!! hot!! i grow 6 Habernero plants in my garden every year. Scolar is right, not enough organic material in the soil to hold moisture around the roots. Do you have a heavy clay type soil? If the ground in your garden forms cracks during a dry spell it's a sure sign to mix some compost in before the next planting.

How many plants do you have? If more than one, how close are they to each other? Are they in the ground or pots? (I do both)

GNS Spices of Southern California has developed the Red Savina habanero which has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's hottest spice up to 580,000 scoville units! Most habaneros rate from 200,000 - 300,000 units on the scoville scale.
Habanero means "from Havana" and is believed to originally have been taken to the Yucatan Peninsula from Cuba. About 1,500 tons of habaneros are harvested each year in the Yucatan.
A typical Jalapeno pepper is about 4,500 Scoville units. This means that 4,500 parts of sugar water are required to dilute one part Jalapeno extract until its heat can no longer be felt. Dilute it any further and you would not be able to taste any hotness. Cayenne and Tabasco rate in the range of 30,000 - 50,000.
It is recommended to use gloves to handle habaneros.
