Is Judge Judy a REAL court???

I'm not really into this, but I've seen it a couple of times. It's not really my kinda thing I gotta say...but I was wondering is that court picked at random when people go to trial like any other non-tv court? Cos, it just seems a lil odd to be trying to see justice cos someone screwed you over and be like "Right, I'm taking you to court you asshole!!...but hey..wanna go on the TV at the same time!?!?" hehe.

Anyone have a clue?

Could there possibly be a chance that her judgement is affected by her media fame. Not saying that she's a bad judge, but with all that money comming in from the judicial system and the networks, do you think that her personality or ideas are skewed cause of the extra "attention"?
