Very few pics or reports this morning as I surfed the news channels. And, still no crowd shots that I can find on the tube. One report (CNN?) said that the protestors camp says there were 100,000, but the news states that in reality the most was 1-2 thousand. This report you've just linked us to says "several thousand".

Here's a picture of the Die-In at the Capitol

I'm sure the turnout was closer to 100,000 than 2,000. That's what they want you to believe. If they arrested 190 (latest total), out of only 2,000, that's 10% of everyone who showed up!!! What BUSHIT!

the only place i saw any coverage of the war protest was on FOX TV news. i figured that might be because there's no worry about getting their conservative viewers riled up and spreading the protest...dunno.

I read this yesterday morning at work...ON MSNBC.COM!

I was watching Fauxnews yesterday morning too. They talked about the anti-war protest for ten seconds, went into a bunch of interviews from thepro-war rally, a 5-minute rant about that ad that moveon.org made, and then 10+ minutes about Lindsay Lohan and how she's addicted to sex.

Fuck the mainstream media. Get on the internet and tell people what is happening.

Delving into some reports, estimate for total number of anti war protesters, 150,000. If 150 to 190 were arrested, and some of those being pro war demonstrators that is not bad.

Apparently it's now time to make WAR ON THE MEDIA, because they've obviously declared WAR ON PROTESTERS!

I'm not so sure that they are plotting to be quiet about it.

Have you noticed how many news reports with "The State Department announced today ...", "GM announced .....", "A concerned group reported that..."

The news folks don't go out and get news anymore. They edit and pass on announcements.

"Never attribute to malice what can be adiquatly explained by incompetence."

It sounds like Indi news is a good thing.

Uh, EVERY news channel is right now covering the LIVE PROTEST of the Jena 6, where black people are protesting. Whereas NOT ONE OF THEM COULD BE BOTHERED TO COVER A NATIONAL PROTEST IN WA-SHIT-ON DC, WHERE 100,000 People protested!!!

The Constitution might not detail it, but the Declaration of Independence sure does!

And that piece of paper started a REVOLUTION!

Is it clear yet what the American people's next course of action should be?

I would say that Americans are suffering FAR MORE NOW, than they were prior to the Revolution, which was mostly about taxes on the RICH.

According to the Declaration, we MUST declare our INDEPENDENCE from this CORRUPT, INEPT, SELFISH, VIOLENT, LYING, BETRAYING government!

That is the REAL PATRIOTIC DUTY OF EVERY AMERICAN!

Guerilla tevelvision would be a good idea to bring that protest out on the media table.

What games? I think allowing them to come home would be a pretty fun game for these poor overworked, underpaid souls who are fighting for nothing, but the biggest money loot and launder this generation has been winess to. And as for "The Terrorists" who do you think signed your paychecks all those years you fucking stooge. And to get to the third point We're Here...for you. give me a fucking break. You're here. They're there. The books are being written by your lords in their blood. It's becoming devastatingly clear we can't pull out of this quagmire until we divide that area up again to appease this wacky ass "country". All the while Buzz is on stage protesting a protest for soft money to line the place where a human soul might have once resided. These flag humpers disgust me. flags have served to divide us all as people of the world, and nothing else. Old glory sure hasn't united this nation, only the Real Americans like Toby Queef and Mark Foley. Progressive thought has been marginalized to the point of near extinction, and the the stupid are breeding and teaching their kids as they were taught at an exponentially greater rate than the intelligent. They say it gets darkest before the dawn, but short of the baby jesus holding a press conference and admitting dying for our sins was the one bad choice he ever made, i'm having trouble concocting a scenario that saves us.

funny, 4 pages and the majority of the posts belong to skip....where's the outrage? where's the passion? I can almost see my fellow hipforum-ers looking at this thread, saying to themselves "Gee, what a shame...someone should do something about it.." and then passing over this thread to go reply to some thread in the love & sex boards about public masturbation.

I'm sure one day very soon the folks in this country will regret not caring about anyone or anything other than their own selfish desires.......

will they expect others to care about them then?
