i decided yesterday that there's no reason i should wait to get dreads anymore. my job isn't even a big deal- i'm a substitute teacher (ie: no specific boss, no co-workers, at a completely different school every day). so i'm doing it!

i have super frizzy fat ringlets. they knot up so much on their own that i've had accidental dreads lots of times. the only things i'm doing are washing with non-residue soap and rubbing & playing with certain locks of hair. i've heard saltwater's good for drying out hair.... how often? do i wash it out?

i'm so excited! i'll post pictures as soon as they look like anything!

congrats! its sounds like youre gonna have awesome locks :)
i dont know about the salt water, i dont do rinses exactly, but i do swim in the ocean all summer and never wash it afterwards. actually, thats how i wash my hair as long as its warm enough lol
i think it depends on your hair type. if you have dry brittle hair, i wouldnt put salt in it at all. my friend uses a mixture of water, sea salt and lemon juice sprayed onto his hair with a spray bottle a few times a month and says it really helps.
    good luck :)

no, haha... just the tiniest sweetest apartment ever. my bf and i call it "treehouse" cause we have to climb a steep fire escape to get in and cause we're both really tall and it feels like we are just playing that we live there....

i would love to live in a real treehouse, but i don't think my bf would, haha.

i would love lovin in a treehouse :) or a cave

i wouldnt suggest lemmon juice in the spray, it reacts to sunlight & heat & causes a peroxide like bleaching & could make hairbrittle
    olwyn...
can ya post some progress pics?

Try wearing a wool hat too, theres something about wool fibers that really helps your hair knot up like crazy.
