If you have a doctors note for medical marijuana, Did you self-medicate and then seek a perscription or did your doctor recomend it first

Actualy, I don't have a note. My wife has chronic knee pain and I suggested she try mj rather than drugs that either didn't work or took her mind away.

I am curious about doctor's attutute towards marijuana. Most medical professionals are open to my wife's situation.

be careful. the US supreme court just ruled against Reich in the Ashcroft vs. Reich case. Medical marijuana is now outlawed and the federal government has the power to overrule state laws.

giver your wife my sympathy and don't take this lying down!!! Marijuana has so many postive effects on health and chronic pain.

The Supreme Courts decision just maintained the status quo. There is nothing new comming from that decision.

Well, its been two days and no responces to my poll. I guess I'll have to put out my hypothosis without any data.

I contend that perscription drug commercials on TV and medical marijuana are both aspects of the same thing. People are choosing their own medicines. There are good aspects to this, people taking more responsibility for their health care. There are also bad, people doctor shopping to get what they want.

    Any thoughts.

i personally think pharmology should be a more widely tought, and investigated area of science. but what good would a world be where everyone knows what the drug companies are actually doing to them?

In Colorado, physicians certify that a patient's medical condition or treatment "may be alleviated by the medical use of marijuana." Then, the patient sends the certification and $110 to the state to receive an identification card. No script is provided. The ID card will just keep me from being busted for growing my own, or walking around with a stash.

I have a state ID card and MM for 2 + years.

I took my doctors records to a doctor on a list for San Francisco area and after he saw my illness and the heavy drugs I am on he wrote it with easy.

    I have a rare chronic pain since 1999 24/7

I take a total of 240+100 painkillers a month for chronic pain in left side of face and brain

    Why they don't know

    Cure they don't know.

Answer from them is painkillers and live in a fog not functional.

Now I can sometimes in same month cut pills in half with weed and have a life.

I was put on disability after 5 yrs of trying to cure.

I waited 5+yrs before I went on it because I did not want to be written off that fast.

I am living hard cold fact that MJ is worthy as a medical treatment.

It does not put me in a fog and lets me live again.

There is 7-10 clubs in about 8 mins or less by walking

I love it 140+ in state and here its easy to get doctors and weed.

Its a great program, wish and should be for all.

A sick person who's in pain but if money is tight they still get great relief for mere $5.

2/4/8 gram joints prerolled for $5/$10/$15 they can be rerolled to many joints.

Its not even low grade weed its fresh, strong smell, strong indica shake.

As each jar runs low they dump the non bud loose stuff in the shake joints jar.

i'm a quadraplegic myself &have verybad spasticity &have been on high doses of baclofen for 15 years, & had visual & auditory halucinations fromit, & the scary part was id believe the halucinations were real. i've had a freinds heart stop by taking the dose itookin 1 day i one dayran out of the meds sotried a mm tincture..& the spasms disapeared completely unfortunately baclofenisnt something you canjust stop without severe problems
couple years later &i've had multiple surgeries to control tthe spasms. and have botox every 3 months alsoto control them yet theyre still bad but at least i cut the meds to 1/3
still i have baed insomnia fromthe meds &many other problems
i was recentlygiven a oil based very strong mm tincture wich works amazingly (but i tryto use as little as possible cause even a tinysip gives me drymouthfrom hell)
i live inphiladelphia & as far as iknow mm isnt availible anywhere nesar me
does anyone know any affordable options inthe area?
for me tinctures or edible works best since just smoking a couple bowls doesnt have enough affect (the tincture i have now is just a 1 liter bottle no dropper so a measured dose isnt easy & is tripple strength so only a few drops is very strong)
if there are options in pa or nearby, my dr ithink would write a note without hesitation cause he knows iknow whats best for me

to be able to get a medical marijuana card, you first have to live in a state that recognizes marijuana as a medicine or it won't matter what your ailment is...you won't get m.m.

I have a debilitating disease (bone degeneration) that has gotten me my medical card.

I have seen every specialist there is known to man/woman and the only thing they told me was to start smoking marijuana and get away from all the pain killers to try to save my kidneys and liver. Which I was already smoking before they suggested it to me. Pain killers suck so much ass.

I took this paperwork to a medical marijuana doctor (you make an appointment and see one once a year), he asked a lot of questions, then did his own physical to me to see how bad off I was. He singed the paperwork agreeing that I needed it (m.m. card) and after paying $200 and filling out tons of paperwork, in two months I got my cards in the mail.

I don't deal with any medical dispensories like they have in California, so I never have to pay for my marijuana...if I don't want to or don't have the funds too. It's all given away here.
They say if you ask for money the government can come in and shut you down anytime, so they don't, not here.
Instead, we donate our time or extra meds we grow each harvest. That way everyone is happy and live government free.

The growers who sell to other patients who don't have a scheduled grower yet, do sell ounces for $100 to $200 depending on the grade. Just to help out with the electric bill.

Hopefully the state will start to reinburse growers for their high electric bills. We are trying to get it passed through. That would be nice.

I use Cannabis for "multipule" reasons, but since moving to Colorado, I have found it really hard to find the help I need untill I get my garden up next spring, I am in allot of pain & could uses your prayers & guidance.

I live in the Denver/Boulder area but can't find anyone who would be willing to drive 25 miles to my home (i don't have a car, & have had problems trying to get my dog on the bus without paperwork)

what is "compationate access if it isn't accessable to poor & homebound"
I would do work (dishes-cleaning for trade if I knew I would be "Payed" afterwards.

    thanks Bones:
