Why wouldn't X360 be able to achieve the same effect?

^ it should be able to technically..

as for being "4D" thats not really 4 dimensional, it's just giving each object made of the pixels it's own properites or "algorythims" as said in the write up and how it is effected by the surroundings, it's not really anything new, they've been developing it for a while now

imo whenever the PS3 does come out with it, it will be dated, as the PS3 only has 1 processor, watch in 2-3 years when tri and quad core processors come out for computers, thats when you will see the full extent of this type of technology, as in multi-processor platforms, a single processor will be used purely for graphic rendering

considering as how the the 4th dimention is generally considered to be time, and perspective creates the illusion of dementionality being rendered on the fly, it would be pretty hard for anything that runs any kind synthetic 3d games, even the all purpose p.c. itself, NOT to be "4d".

sounds like a bunch of emotional attatchment to more gratuitous sales hype.
the idea of anything that can render an image from dimentional data not being "4d" is pretty much of a howler.

the only thing i can think of that wouldn't be "4d" is a side scroller where you have 2d plus time, or 2-1/2 d plus time, like zaxxon or furcadia.

yeah I was thinking the same thing... the 4th dimension is time. Adding that to a videogame has been done many times before.

Oh by the way, how do you MAKE another dimension?

You make another dimension by adding... what was the word Mr.Green used... Oh yeah, polish, as far as video games go. Dynamic textures are hardly a leap away from "the same old shit".
Sorry, Mr.Green, but the large amount of leeway I give all fanboys (including myself) ran out after your 4th or 5th rant. At least make some effort to understand the technology you're championing for your favorite company before coming on here and telling everyone how much it trumps them. 4D is just a buzz-word for the obvious next step in texture rendering.

Eh does it really make that big a difference? I doubt you'd hardly notice much of it anyway.

they should make a game where you wear 3-D glasses. is that what 4-D means?

Nothing the PS3 can do is useful, interesting, or innovative. It's a 600 dollar space heater that someone manages to have the worst selection of games in history, and each of those games sucks.

And yet it is about a million times better than the last generation 360. 40% failure rate in the first year. What a joke that console WAS.

it's not time, it's how the surroundings are effected by the players actions somone could stick around the same spot in a game for 2 months real time and it most likely would barely change at all.
